Besides being a nice property, it offers excellent service. Even though this is a self service type of hotel, the communication is pretty instantaneous. We had a toilet blockage & texted for help. Within 10 minutes, someone came to fix our toilet & got it done in another 10.

The Angler Lodge is a truly special place to stay and has become a favorite stop for us on our way from Portland to San Francisco. It’s beautifully decorated—thoughtful, stylish, and far beyond what you’d expect from most hotels. Every detail feels intentional and welcoming. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, perfect after a long day on the road. The keyless entry is a huge plus, especially when we’re rolling in late at night—it makes everything easy and stress-free. Best of all, the lodge feels quiet and very safe, allowing for a peaceful, restorative stay. An exceptional find that turns a travel stop into something memorable.

Anglers Lodge: An Unexpected Gem ​For being the cheapest available room I could find late at night in the entire Mount Shasta area, the Anglers Lodge genuinely surprised me. ​You can tell the hotel is an older building that has likely gone through many different revisions. However, the most recent owners have clearly poured love, detail, and attention into the property. It doesn't feel like a cold business venture; it feels like a sincere family project, which lends a cozy, authentic atmosphere to the stay. ​I arrived late at night, exhausted after driving over the mountains in the dark and the rain. The office was closed, and my spotty cell service made it impossible to access the booking app for check-in instructions. Thankfully, there was a number posted. I called it, and a lady immediately answered. She was incredibly nice, explained the simple procedure, and gave me the smart lock code for my room, making the check-in process completely seamless and stress-free. ​When I punched in the code and entered the room, I was instantly blown away. The cleanliness and care were impeccable. While the layout is that of a standard hotel room, the small details really brought the experience together, including a handwritten note from the housekeeping staff. This extra level of personal attention is what truly sets the Anglers Lodge apart. ​This isn't just a budget option; it's a perfect example of what great hospitality can achieve. I highly recommend it.

Nice room, well-maintained. The contactless part was a surprise. It was not clear from the booking website all the steps that would be required. We had to figure it out after we got there and discovered noone in the lobby. Luckily there was a phone number to call.

The room was clean, but there is a train that passes by a few times a night blowing it's horn which made it impossible to sleep. The walls are super thin and I could hear the guy in the next room yawning. It's cheap, but probably not worth it if you actually want to sleep.
