Showed up at 8pm for a reserved room and was told the hotel overbooked on all channels and will not be able to accommodate. How miserable.

This motel is set up to handle Railroad workers who come at all hours. That mean they are cleaning at all hours. There Laundry room was right next to my room and that caused the loss of a couple hours of sleep, which I dearly needed. I wish I had known the situation ahead of time and I wouldn't have stayed there. Everything els3e about the facility was fine.

Great view, great hardworking staff, and very quiet. And I absolutely adore all the railroad workers that stay here. Always kind and polite.

The staff was great even though she was check in person also the cook at the restaurant.

Right by interstate, no view, big parking lot, clean,

Hotel perfect but staff expected to run both Penny's Diner and hotel. Regular stopping place for us during all times of year and same problem. If you are willing to wait 15-20 min. To check in, the rooms are great, beds comfy, and sooo quiet.

Checking in at the diner was certainly unconventional but the clerk/waitress was most peasant. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. It's a hidden gem.

The interesting thing about the Oak Tree Inn – they don’t have a hotel lobby, a reception etc. To check in we had to go to the small “eatery” in front of the building. The waitress registered us and provided the keys “between serving” few late guest in the restaurant. No computers, card readers etc. neither. I had to write down my credit card number for accidentals. Having said that, it was a pleasant stay. The hotel is a modern two or three stores building with ice and wending machines and other amenities as one would find at any major chain. The room was also a typical hotel room, quite clean and comfortable. The location on “a hill in the word” is quite remote though. There is only the hotel building and the mentioned small restaurant. The city of Dunsmuir is some 10 minutes’ drive away.

Very nice place. I loved having a 24-hour restaurant within walking distance.

The staff were very easy to work with. The room was clean and comfortable. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast at the diner....

very good - nice hotel for the value - a place to dine next door - close to Mt Shasta

This hotel was built primarily to house railroad workers. The restaurant next door is an interval part acting as the lobby as well as a source of excellent meals. We had some work to do and were encouraged to stay as long as we wanted. Warm and friendly without being intrusive. We would definitely go again

The room was for disabled guests, no bathtub and high toilet.

We have stayed in Dunsmuir before but now we know where to stay from now on. The Oak Tree Inn was super quiet even thought we had a freeway facing room. The room was clean and bed was amazing (I was half tempted to take the pillow with me!) my husband said it was the best nights sleep we had all trip.

Wonderful room, clean , wonderful location, we loved

The Hotel was very , very good, room, fitness room, clean, the staff was very polite y charming.

This is my 2nd stay at this hotel. The staff is always nice and helpful. A great spot to take a break part way home from Washington. And you get a free breakfast. A real meal...not the waffle, cereal, fruit bar.

Stayed here one night while traveling south on I-5. Room exceptionally clean. Quiet for a good overnight rest. Included breakfast in adjacent diner was just right. Great value for the money . Second stay here and would stay again if I needed a stop in the area. No elevator, so if stairs (only two stories) are a problem, request a first floor room.

We stayed one night on the way back from Oregon and the rooms were comfortable, Penney's Diner was so cute and friendly and the food delicious, and the hike along the river and botanical gardens was really pretty. The staff was helpful and the fitness room was a welcome site after a long drive.
