The hotel is nicely and conveniently located among the thermal parks and buildings. It is a rather old building and set-up, bringing a charming sense of how thermal holidays were spent in the old days. Understandably parts of the hotel, infrastructure, decoration and some rooms are pretty old-fashioned, probably dating back to the 60s, while some rooms are newly renovated. The air-conditioning systems are not optimal. Kind staff, charming common spaces and a nice swimming pool area for an overall pleasant stay. We wish the hotel all the best in the necessary continued renovation efforts.

The charm of good past times

Astoria hotel is very good choice for money. Good location ,very good breakfast, beautiful garden. Quite place in the hart of Montecatini Terme . Beautiful pool surrounded by greenery.High level service.

An older charming property located in a beautiful area of Montecatini and only a ten minute walk to the rail station. Enjoyed the food, the pool and the relaxed atmosphere. Great staff.

Loved the authentic Tuscan style of the hotel making it very charming and the stay were all helpful and friendly so we felt very at home there The only downside was the breakfast which was disappointing as it would have been nice to have had fresh bread/fresh croissants and fresh fruit salads The coffee was lovely though

Essence of Italy

From arriving at the Hotel Astoria, first impressions were of a friendly welcome to a really lovely Hotel. We stayed for 9 nights and we definitely want to return. Customer service at it’s best, lovely surroundings in a hotel full of character. The swimming pool is by a pretty garden. Food was really good and bedroom kept spotless with crisp sheets and fluffy towels and was a credit to the staff who cleaned them. The location of the Hotel couldn’t be beaten, on the edge of a beautiful park. It is a little gem and a real essence of Italy.

The hotel has a lovely old world charm and has a gorgeous setting among the trees. It is short and easy to walk into the centre of town, park, nearby funicular, market and train station. These are all easy to find. The hotel room was a good size with its own balcony. A good sized swimming pool set amongst the roses, enhanced our stay. Staff and the owner are wonderful - so warm and friendly.

Lovely hotel in great location

Characterful hotel in peaceful location, a pleasant stroll from the town centre along tree-lined paths through a large municipal park. The hotel is even closer to old hillside railway (Funicolare di Montecatini Terme) - €7 return trip to 'old town', which is well worth a visit. Lovely old (but very well maintained) grand building in peaceful location within a huge municipal park with tree-lined walks. All the staff are very friendly & helpful, The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food is of particularly good quality and we would recommend the restaurant for meals, as it offers convenience, excellent choice, great quality, pleasant service and very good value.

Great turn of the century villa

Great hotel for those of us that appreciate great old buildings, excellent staff and grounds air conditioning a little weak but to be fair it was extremely hot in Italy this year , also free parking and the hotel is situated a short walk into town. Would definitely return to this hotel

Superb

Stayed at this charming hotel for my 10th wedding anniversary, the hotel is lovely and cosy, based in a tranquil and stunning surroundings. It's a short stroll from all bars and restaurants and also the feniculare. If there wasn't Soo much to see and do locally I would have been happy to stay by the spa and pool to rest for the entire week. I would recommend a stay here in a heartbeat.

Nice hotel surrounded by beautiful park

Overall a very nice experiemce. The hotel is surrounded by a park and easy walking distance to the center of Montecatini and the funicula to Montecatini Alto. The free parking adjacent to the hotel is a nice plus. The rooms and lobby are clean but dated, but that is part of the charm. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are very helpful. I would highly recommend the hotel if you have the appropriate expectations for a 3-4 star hotel.

Grand old Hotel

Really great old property that in its day must have been amazing. The common areas have been refurbished some. Breakfast was good and the old dinnerware, utensils, are amazing. Heavy like all great hotels had. The beds need some better pillows. The gentleman who checked us in, helped with our luggage and showed us our room was such a classic example of what great old hotels were about. He could have been from "the South"!

Great location! surrounded by trees and nice walk to the park. The lobby is nice, well decorated with beautiful flower arrangements. There are many relaxing sitting areas around the hotel. The pool area is awesome! The room looks great except the bathroom needs to be updated. Delicious buffet breakfast !!

Lovely hotel enjoyed my visit

Staff very welcoming & helpful. Lovely hotel and surroundings. Very near the large park & everything including Funicular (to Montecatini Alto) within walking distance. Enjoyed lounging by the pool as well. Would love to stay here again if I return to the beautiful Montecatina Therme.

Family run hotel 5 minutes walk from the centre

A good selection of food for buffet breakfast to cater for all & the 3-course dinner was value for money. The swimming pool was cleaned everynight and had a full-time attendant. Every member of staff we met were always pleasant & very helpful. We would have no hestitation in the staying in this hotel again.
