This was the PERFECT spot at Beachwalk Resort for our vacation! Roght next to the swimming pool and a little sandy beach directly off the back porch. It made our trip with a two year old so much easier. We really appreciated the beach chairs and sand toys that came with the house too!

The location is great right next to the small lake. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking (a larger dining table would be ideal). Check in was easy and the house was very clean. Overall we recommend and would stay again!

Fun in the Sun

Every year we return to the yellow submarine is better than the last. Great memories in Lake Kai and taking in all the resort has to offer; kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, Fishing, shuffle board, ping pong and so much more. The yellow submarine is a great value perfectly located next to the pool, directly on Kai lake and a stones throw to the club house. Every year we notice new improvements and are delighted with our stay. We can’t wait till next year.

The Best Location In Beachwalk!

The Yellow Submarine was by far the best rental we've stayed at in our 4 years of visiting Beachwalk. It was cleaner than any other home, more spacious, had a better stocked kitchen, and above all - the location: Wow! Being right next to the pool may feel intrusive to some, but the proximity was perfect for our family of 4 with two young children. We spent many evenings and mornings relaxing on the chairs that overlooked lake Kai, walking along the beach, and playing games on the screened-in porch. Can't wait to go back!

Great fun was had by all!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at beach walk. From a financial standpoint, this was the most expensive rental we’ve ever splurged on. We were grateful to have been able to have the opportunity. We also know being on Lake Kai is such a bonus and knew there would be some trade offs for that. We ate in a lot and the kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The listing should note that there is a Keurig because that was something we were not aware of and brought regular coffee. Overall, the property could have been cleaner, but the property owner’s cleaners didn’t show and he had to do it himself and we were completely understanding that things happen and we’re glad he at least came and did it himself and enjoyed meeting him. I think in the off-season it definitely needs a thorough deep clean: ceiling fans, master bath, cushions, etc but once again wouldn’t keep us from coming back and is just a suggestion. We used the master bedroom and the spare bedroom upstairs and my third son just slept on an air mattress by our bed so we can’t attest for the two beds in the loft, but there were no complaints on the conditions of the beds in which we slept. We had such fun with the resorts amenities, and we hope to be back again in the next summer or two.

We'll be back next year!

We loved our stay at Yellow Submarine! We rebooked for next year the day we got home. I thought the pool was going to be too loud and invasive, but even at it's busiest it was just background noise. The pool being so close ended up being such a fun treat as we ended up going several times throughout each day. The location of the house cannot be beat. All the community amenities are just right outside the back deck. This was our first trip to Beachwalk and I was surprised by how easily you can walk around the whole community and to Lake Michigan. We took our daughter's scooter to help her get around and she didn't need to use it once. The pictures online are representative to condition of the home. I usually am ready to get back home at the end of a vacation and I was sad to leave Yellow Submarine and Beachwalk. We are looking forward to coming back!

Great house, great stay!

Yellow Submarine was perfect for our family vacation/reunion. The location is perfect, and the deck below the screened in porch adds so much extra outdoor space! And of course Lake Kai is at your feet. John is a responsive host, and he made sure we had what we needed. Highly recommend!

Great location, room for improvement

Not our first time at Beachwalk and this visit was just as great as others, but the house, not so much. For how much they’re charging, they aren’t keeping the house up to date. Shotty grill, rotting decking boards and screws sticking out to snag your feet on. Cleanliness was lackluster; floors, baseboards and corners covered in dust dirt, moldy showers on both floors. With so many amazing options available in Beachwalk, a higher standard is expected.

A dream fun filled vacation

Our 4th visit to the yellow submarine! We love the location, and right on the beach of lake Kai and next to the pool. So much to do; paddle board, kayaking, fishing, pool, lake MI, and jetskiing out of MI City harbor… Great place to vacation. House has everything you need :) Owner is very responsive and helpful.

We Love The Yellow Submarine!

We have stayed at this property on multiple occasions. The community offers many amenities and friendly environment. The Yellow Submarine is located on a private lake that is fully stocked for fishing, kayaks and paddle boats are available for use, a pool is located steps from the home, and tennis, basketball, and volley ball courts are a short walk away. Beautiful views and lots of family fun! The host is highly responsive and does a great job making you feel welcome. We highly recommend this property for any one looking for a relaxing get away or family fun vacation.

As always, loved out stay. Perfect location, great amenities, super cute house right on the lake. Steps to the heated pool, club house, kayaking, paddle boarding, ping pong, shuffle boarding, etc. Can’t wait to go back!

Family Reunion

My mom’s side of the family comes to Beachwalk every summer. Our branch of the tree had some members that decided to take their RVs to the state park instead of staying at Beachwalk so our group was smaller this year. With only 5-6 of us needing a house this time we decided to try The Yellow Submarine which sleeps 8. It was a wonderful set up and the location at Beachwalk can’t be beat. Most of our other family members stayed in the really big homes that hold 20+ but they all congregated each day at the fishing pier, the Boardwalk beach, volleyball, or the pool. All of these were right outside our back door, perfect for my 96 year old grandmother to sit and watch from the porch and easily accessible for my dad to get around to everything without navigating long walks or multiple steps. Thank you for sharing your place with us. It was a perfect week!

Super Convenient, Cozy and Cute

Bright with all the creature comforts of a lived-in home. From the sizable outdoor grill, full drawers of kitchen tools to the throw blankets and many, many beach toys -- everything you'll need to enjoy the week adjacent to the community pool, mere steps to Lake Kai and the community beach walk. Bath towels, bath, dish and dishwashers soaps, spices, paper products, etc. provided -- a nice touch. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Great location!

The location is everything with this place and it's amazing. The place was on the rustic side but not a worry when most of the time is spent outdoors. It's worth every penny for the large screened in porch overlooking Lake Kai.

Terrific place, terrific location

This was one of our favorite VRBOs we've ever rented; with our kids older, and bigger, all 6 of us stayed for the week and there was plenty of room. The location is great with view of the lake (I'd recommend renting golf cart for ride to beach but it's not necessary, walk is manageable); the back deck and porch are great hangout areas; we grilled out every night. Just a great place, we'll be back.

Excellent location. Perfect house for our family.

We've stayed at Beachwalk twice now. This was our favorite house thus far. The location can't be beat. We loved being next to the pool, steps from the private lake and fishing peer and a close walk to Lake Michigan. We had 3 generations across 4 people, spanning from 10 years of age to grandparent. Everyone loved it. The house had everything we needed. Beds everywhere for the choosing. The screened in porch was our spot to relax most days. Looking forward to a return visit.

Yellow Submarine- Awesome Stay

Super cute, clean home with everything you need… proximity to pool, beach, fishing, clubhouse, etc is the best. Relaxing on the porch was perfect while watching kids play on the sand… We really enjoyed our stay —- we plan to come back. Beachwalk is fabulous - so much to do, great families to meet… very memorable vacation.

Great location

My kids loved being right on Lake Kai and right next to the pool. Other reviews mentioned noise from the pool, but as it closed at 8pm, it didn't bother us. A privacy screen on the pool side of the screened porch would have been nice though. My littles (8 and 11yos) loved the loft beds...like little secret nooks. The master bedroom suite was spacious and comfortable, although I would have like a ceiling fan in the room and a safety bar by the bathtub which is taller than a typical tub and was a struggle for me and my arthritic joints to get in and out safely. We also had some difficulties with the thermostat... Not sure if that was user error though. The house stayed a touch uncomfortably on the warm side despite the weather outside being fairly mild. When it was cool enough and not too muggy, we did open all the windows and doors and there was a beautiful cross breeze. We'd consider staying there again, though I'd like to find out if the problem was us with the temperature control, and if not, then we'd definitely bring a couple of extra fans

Family vacation

Great experience! Right on lake Kai and next to the pool. From reviews, it did have times it was noisy, but didn’t bother us (we had 3 kids with us so can also be noisy). It was quiet in the morning and after close, and couldn’t hear much in the house. Normal wear and tear for the building. Loved having the washer/dryer available and we came home without any extra laundry to do - bring your own soap as there were 2 provided and one is used for towels at the end of the stay. Awesome location. Loved walking to the beach (with provided wagon) and could let older kids play in lake Kai while sitting on the deck. Overall, great experience! Would definitely recommend.
