Dramatic sustainable house designed for his own dwelling and holiday rental by Philip Boorman who has many awards for his outstanding Architectural work and furniture designs.

Located on the escarpment in the centre of the 125 acre site. This privileged isolation has allowed the house design to be opened to the expansive surrounding valley and mountains by the extensive use of timber framed bi-fold doors and windows. Solar panels generate the power supply and roof water is collected in tanks for filtered reuse within the home.

The Lodge is located 3 mins to the mountain village of Mapleton and:
10 mins to the vibrant village of Montville
30 mins to the world famous Eumundi Markets
30 mins to the beaches of the Sunshine Coast - Coolum Beach, Maroochydore, Alexandra Headlands and Mooloolaba

1.5 hrs to the north of Brisbane

We had a great stay at this well designed house. It was very clean, comfortable & exactly as described in the listing. It had stunning sunset views from the side of the house. No ceiling fans in the bedrooms, but did have pedestal fans available. Wifi very minimal.We’d definitely recommend this house and would stay again.

The lodge is our favourite holiday accommodation in all of the world! Surrounded by forest and with wonderful views of the Obi Obi valley and not another house in sight. We really love the drive down through the bush on our own private road to reach this private, off-grid, peaceful refuge. Mary and Warwick are perfect hosts and ensure that everything is just right. Gorgeous place to stay with our family & dog. The Mapleton Pub is a must-visit for dinner - the food is incredible! We also ventured out to Kenilworth, Maleny, and Montville during our stay.The kids enjoyed collecting kindling and venturing around the property with the dog. We treated the kids to watching DVD's supplied by the hosts (we had little to no phone reception/internet connection). Would highly recommend this place to families, couples, and people wanting to travel with pets.

The photos on the website, good as they are, do not do the property justice.The house is in a stunning location. The house is also beautifully designed and has a very homely feel about it. It was also spotlessly clean.It is wonderful to be in a secluded spot but be close to town for supplies and a fantastic meal at the local pub.It was also good value which is a rare thing in this day and age.Thank you.
