John was an outstanding host from start to finish. He was always quick to answer questions no matter how big or small. The cabin is gorgeous and CLEAN. I am very picky with cleanliness and I felt 100% at ease here. The fireplaces worked well to take the chill out of the basement and main floor. We are not used to using a heater but it was easy to figure out and worked well in the below zero temps.The washing machine available in the basement was a massive help to us. Other small touches like the sound machines in the bedrooms and games near the communal table were appreciated and used nightly. All of the kitchen utensils and cookware were great. We have a chef in our mix so travel with our own knives, but otherwise we were very much able to utilize everything supplied in the kitchen to cook meals.We will definitely come back!

Very well appointed cabin. Kitchen hardware was great. Beds very comfortable and the dock great for three boats. Parking was abit tight if you have three trailers which seems to be the max. John was great with communication. If you are not app savvy the exterior lighting app will be a very patient process.

Highly recommend this property. Authentic log cabin experience with all the extras! Plenty of room for everyone and well stocked with supplies. Enjoyed getting out on the water with provided kayaks and even caught a small mouth bass off the dock!

Very clean. Excellent location. Home is remodeled and beautiful. Dock is wonderful with plenty of space to park your boat, with a sandy/gravel bottom excellent for swimming right off the dock. No power on dock/shoreline so bring 150’ of extension cord to charge your boat on dock. We enjoyed our time very much!

We had a fantastic stay! The cabin was clean, well maintained, and well equipped. Great location in a cove on Island Lake. The kayaks and paddle boards were a huge plus, as was the sofa area on the deck. John was a super responsive host. Highly recommend next time you’re looking for a place in Manitowish!

John and Lorie’s cabin was perfect in every way for our family trip. We had 4 families for a total of 8 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and bed. The kitchen was great as well as a nice size table for everyone to sit. Our favorite part of their place was their dock. The seating area was great to lounge in while watching the kids play on the floating mat or paddling around on the paddle boards. Their dock is in a little bay too so there was no boat traffic at all which meant it was safe and private. The stairs to get down to the dock were a bit steep but made for a good daily workout:). The pre check in was process with John was one of the easiest ever. He sent a great pdf with information about their place prior to our arrival which was very helpful when being with a large group of people. I was able to share that with everyone so that we all knew what to do upon or arrival or how/where stuff was.

Absolutely beautiful log cabin with stunning views of Island Lake! The location is perfect—peaceful and scenic. The cabin was very clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, giving it a warm, cozy feel. The host was fantastic and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway

Peaceful and Relaxing Extended Family Getaway

We brought three generations together under one roof for a fun family getaway. This property had the space and amenities to keep everyone entertained and able to find a bit of solitude when needed. The house was spotless when we arrived and well stocked with everything we needed to have fun and cook for a crowd! The raft, paddleboards, kayaks and many board games helped the teenagers forget about phones! Communication with the owners ensured we were set for the trip and supported during our stay. We hope to be back!

Amazing Cabin & Views!

We had a wonderful family vacation in this spacious and beautiful log cabin overlooking the lake! The views were stunning, and the cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Communication with our host, John, was excellent—he was responsive and welcoming throughout our stay.We had an amazing time kayaking, fishing, boating, paddle boarding, cooking, and playing games together. The porch was a perfect spot to unwind and take in the peaceful surroundings.We truly made some unforgettable memories here and definitely plan on coming back to make even more!

I have rented VRBO’s about 3 times a year for over the last 10 years, and this has been the best overall experience we have had. From owner communication, lodging, location, and Northwoods experience it was fantastic. Will definitely look at this place again.

Amazing Cabin

From the beginning to the end, our stay was amazing. The owners were extremely helpful and great to communicate with. The cabin was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed at. So many amenities to make you stay one of the best! I highly recommend this place, just don’t book when we do! lol
