Sugar Sand & Harbor Lights on Lake Michigan
Your adventure begins here: with this 2 bed, one bath charming very private cabin on Lake Michigan. Perfect for a romantic getaway, family trip or time alone, Minutes to downtown Manistique, Kitch-iti-kipi, Fayettville and so much more. But why leave when you have the sugar sandy beach as your playground. Take the short walk across your private boardwalk to the vast sandy shore, perfect for long walks, sand volleyball, frisbee golf, catching some rays, and tons of swimming in the crystal clear waters of Lake Michigan. Wildlife abounds as we have seen American Eagles, Great gray owl, kingfishers, bear, fox, dear, frogs, muskrats, all in a short 10 day stay.
Enjoy morning coffee or evening wine on the expansive deck that hosts 2 Adirondack chairs and a very comfy seating lounge as you watch the sun rise/set: both visible from your porch. After a full day of relaxing, exploring and bonding with family and friends settle in the comfort of your private cabin. Meals are a breeze; cooking in our well equipped new kitchen with all the amenities (gas stove, microwave, full size refrigerator, copper clade cookware and Crate n Barrel dinner service) or cook out on the charcoal grill, or over the open campfire.
Sirius satellite radio is a plus since no internet is aval. however we do have a DVD player and a small selection of dvd's cell service is great so you can use your hotspot to stream movies etc..
This cabin features some special touches; the picnic table outside was hand made by Wayne Groleau a 94 year old artist craftsman, who is somewhat of a legend to the area; the original artwork/ paintings are by a regional artist Erika Wanless who's work hangs in private homes, restaurants and the occasional gallery: the large glass jug dates from the 1880 and was common on ships traversing the great lakes, and the huge piece of wood (outside the front door) was found on the beach washed up from a 1880's ship that wreck approx. 1940-1960's
We love our fur family members, so yes we are dog friendly, we ask that you pick up after your pet, keep them off the furniture and they must be under your control at all times.
Have family or friends join you as there is a space for RV parking next to the cabin (for an additional fee) please contact for specifics.
We have installed wildlife cameras on the exterior of the property (no sound) these cameras monitor the wildlife comings and goings and provide security for guests. Bear Coytes and other animals are present. You will be notified if these predators have been seen within the last 3 days in your area in order to take extra precaution. These cameras are solely for protection of guests and property. NO CAMERAS ARE PRESENT INSIDE. There are 2 cameras on property one above the shed in a tree for the side yard, drive and door; and another in a tree for the lake side yard. this camera does get moved to the creek area at times to monitor for beaver.
The cabin is heated and features a kitchen and space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can expect to find a Smart TV with a DVD player. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.

We had such a peaceful, relaxing stay! Being surrounded by nature and having the comfort of the cabin was exactly what we needed. The property was beautiful, as was the cabin itself. It was clean, tastefully decorated, and well-stocked. Check-in was easy and Erika was responsive to communications when I had a couple little questions. The outdoor picnic table and Adirondack chairs were great, and we loved the boardwalk and quiet beach. So glad this stay was dog-friendly! Would stay again.

Beautiful stay by the lake
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property. Located down a dirt road, this house is right on the beach in a private setting. The house is beautifully appointed and the view of the lake is magnificent. We walked the beach many times and only saw other people a few times. There are other properties along this beach, but the trees make it feel very secluded. Still, it is not a long drive to get to Manistique where there is good shopping and restaurants. If you have never been to Garden Peninsula, you are in for a treat and this property is a fantastic way to enjoy the area.

Family getaway
The home was very nice and the lake views from the porch and the fire pit are fantastic. It’s a very quiet area and easy to get to so many great spots in the UP.

A Quiet, Hidden Retreat
The Cadieux Cabin is truly a retreat for rest, relaxation, and reconnection. The property is well-managed, the cabin is clean, beautifully decorated, and situated on Lake Michigan with stunning views. We loved hearing all the animals, walking on the beach, and feeling a world away from the usual routine. Erika was a pleasure to work with, and we appreciate her sharing this experience with us—an excellent place for young families looking to enjoy the best of Pure Michigan.

Very peaceful and relaxing
The only negatives were no AC and tv/vcr did not work.
We were outside almost the whole trip and the view and beach were beautiful. Very dog friendly as well.
We would absolutely stay here again.

Peaceful Retreat
This cottage was everything we were looking for, for a little R&R! The setting is lovely and totally private. We spent most of our time on the roomy covered porch overlooking the water. The well equipped kitchen was perfect for meal prep. Hand/dish soap, salt/pepper, and paper towels are provided - just bring consumables (plastic wrap, foil, spices, oils, etc). We did all of our own cooking, including use of the charcoal grill.
The property is in excellent condition and very comfy. Management is easy to work with. The little creek in front of the cottage is a big bonus if you enjoy wildlife viewing, which we do. Two of our favorite UP destinations, Fayette Historic Townsite and the Munising area/ Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore are only a short drive away. Enjoy Lake Superior and your own private Lake Michigan beach in the same day!

Nicer than the listing description (and that is pretty nice)
The view from the porch is breathtaking and the shoreline is broad and delightful. The cottage is cozy, clean and nicely laid out, but other than sleeping, we spent almost all of our stay outdoors.
There were a couple things we could have used in the kitchen (cookie sheet, small bowls), but we will know to bring those things next time.
The only reason we've slightly marked down the communication score is that we received an email that we had a message from the property manager on our check-in date. When we went to VRBO to retrieve it, there was nothing there.

Fantastic 4 Getaway
This house on Lake Michigan was everything we hoped for and more. The house was cozy, clean and everything felt new. The kitchen had all we needed for our short stay. The porch was so relaxing with great outdoor furniture and an amazing view to see the Lake. The beach was amazing and we felt like we had the whole beach all to ourselves. We had 2 fires and the view from the fire pit was amazing.
This cabin is an hour away from Pictured Rocks where we spent a day of hiking, taking a boat ride, and visiting more beaches. Overall, it was an amazing few days and I would highly recommend this cabin as a place to vacation. It is everything you could hope for. It was a GEM!

Great spot
What a great place to unplug, just of 2 makes it easy to get to and day trip from. Recently remodeled, everything was fresh and clean, comfy beds and a shower with decent water pressure. Beautiful view from the porch with a flat walk down to the sandy beach was great finish to every busy day. Full kitchen, grill and firepit, put a nice bow on this gem, the additional space next to the house would be perfect for a trailer to expand your group. Close enough to town grab breakfast or groceries. Only possible downside could be bugs in the creek between the house and lake but we were there in august and had no problems. I will keep this place in mind for future trips for sure, worth every penny.
