Very good location with restaurants in walking distance. The shuttle to the ski resort is right across the street. The room was very nice and newly remodeled. Yes, heater/AC is very loud, but we barely needed it. Just turned it on for 15min and the room was nice and cosy. Would definitely book here again

Outbound is really convenient if you will be visiting the mountain. There’s a bus stop right in front of the property. Buses can run you all the way up to the mountain and to the village. We had car troubles trying to leave after we checked out and the staff were super helpful. I look forward to another stay here.

This is a great place to stay. The heating didn’t work in our unit and i had to program the TV’s myself and the sauna was shut. All that said, they tried (but failed) to fix the heating and gave us a small heater fan. Mammoth doesn’t offer a lot of great hotels but despite our issues i would recommend this place.

The property is fantastic, and the room was super roomy and comfortable and well-appointed. However, we didn't have hot water. After a day of snowboarding, we obviously wanted to take a hot bath /shower, so this was disappointing. They did credit us with a partial refund, but we would have rather had hot water.

Excellent value!

We stayed for a weekend skiing. Parking was easy and the room was adequate. Next time we will stay in a cabin type room with more of a kitchen. The grounds were well maintained. Very pet friendly resort. We loved the fire pits, hanging out near the lobby fireplace for wine, games and live music. Sauna and steam room hit the spot after a day of skiing.

Good enough for a stay but a bit pricey

The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. The state of the hotel was not very nice. The bathroom tile was very dark and you couldn’t tell if it was clean or not. The air conditioning was extremely loud which made it hard to sleep next to the AC unit, the Internet was very slow and spotty, so it didn’t work all the time. The amenities around the hotel was nice and there was things to do for various family members. We did not use them, but they were available.

Heater didn't work properly

First of all, the heater went all the way without stopping, no matter what temperature we set it at, so of course it got way too hot. We had no choice but to turn it off before going to sleep, but of course with the temperature being in the 10-20s outside, it got too cold during the night. Very uncomfortable. Secondly, the lady at check in was very friendly and all, but with the short conversation she gave us three pieces of wrong information-- 1. Room service is upon request (in reality, we did NOT want room service, but housekeeping came in anyway... isn't it 'upon request'?! If she hadn't say so, we would've put out the Do Not Disturb sign) 2. Hotel bar (Bar Sierra) has happy hour from 4-6pm (in reality, there's no more happy hour at Bar Sierra, but we went there thinking there was) 3. There's coffee in the lobby 24/7 (in reality, nope, there was no coffee when we tried to get a cup). So yeah, not a very satisfying stay overall.

Centrally located to shops and bus lines

My family and I enjoyed our stay at outbound. We had two kids with us, ages 9 and 7, who enjoyed the arcade every evening. Restaurants and Vons are walking distance. The bus line to eagle is easily accessible, right across the street. We stayed in a two bedroom villa with a small kitchenette. Perfect for our quick trip to Mammoth.

This is the old Sierra Nevada Resort. They have added some new units, which I'm sure are nice. But the rooms in the original hotel are in need of updating. We've stayed there twice now. The shower diverters didn't work either time and the parking lot on that side is horrendous. You need a 4 wheel drive to navigate it. There are huge pot holes that become mud pits.
