The room was nice and the cleaning staff cleaned but the room always smelled like a wet rag. Although the hotel staff kind but they were very unaccommodating. There was a price tag attached to everything. The kids club staff were the best out of the whole place. Food was typical all inclusive food, not much show of their culture. The shows were also unimpressive. They didn't really include the guest in the shows except for on one night. The teen club was a waste of time and space. My teens refused to stay there, they should have had dance party one of the nights or something more entertaining for the teens. Karaoke was inconvenient to the kids as they could not get into the bar! Like seriously! My travel and I travel as a large group every year and this is was not very accommodating. We could not even sit together at an all inclusive resort without paying $20 per person! Unbelievable!

Food was mediocre at best. Some of the staff members seemed annoyed that we were there at times, while others were incredibly kind and welcoming. There was one night I went to the maho cafe at 625 pm and the girl scolded me for walking on her freshly mopped floor, then rubbed her head in frustration when another couple walked in behind me. So sorry to have disturbed you! Otherwise the location and views are immaculate and would absolutely be back.

The staff could be friendlier especially at the restaurants. Everyone looks bored. There is quite a lack of entertainment at the resort. Often times there’s nothing much to do other than the pool and beach.

I enjoyed my stay at the Sonesta. The buffet food was pretty good. Some people at the front desk was kind of rude, but overall the staff was really nice. I will return back to Sonesta.

The experience at Sonesta was average! Rooms decent cleaning every day! Staff very friendly especially the Spanish brothers from towel change beside the pool! There is no actually a sand beach….is something very small and usually a lot of people crowded there to catch the flights on video/photo and lots of tourist cruisers! Ee had a good time cause we were 2 families travailing together, rent a car explore the island which is crowded as well, very bed traffic all days long! Water is so clear at least you can swim and enjoy! What annoys us was the buffet where you have to stay in line to get a table scan the bracelet all The time and don't accommodate more than 4 people at the table as Probably they were too lazy to combine 2 tables for us cause we were 7…

I was a little worried when I read some of the google reviews but, I worried for no reason. The staff were lovely, accommodating and helpful. The food was great. The buffet had a different theme each night so we had a lot of variety in what we ate. The pool area had good music and wasn’t overly crowded. The rooms were tidy- a bit of a musty smell but I’m sure that comes with a humid island. We opened the door for the warm breeze and problem solved. Taxi service is right out front. Car rental in the lobby. And a service to help you book any tour or adventure was set up downstairs. We had a great time!
