6/10 Aceptable

It had snowed a couple of days prior to our arrival. The wooden walkway to the cottage had not been cleaned off. I kicked off most of the snow but it was still not safe for walking on (no rails). The only alternative was a deep muddy step.Fireplace was not working. It took two messages to the owner to get a response and all I was offered was an attempt to see if anyone was in the area to fix it. I never heard from owner again. The home has seen better days. Couch in living room area was saggy. Walls were dinged and paint missing on door frames. It didn't keep us from enjoying our weekend, but overall it felt tired. The patio was clearly neglected with broken concrete and leaves all over. I'm sure that it is off-season but per the guest book, there had just been a family there a couple of weeks ago.It did look like the dishwasher and washer and dryer were pretty new.Heads up to future renters: it has a drip coffeemaker, not a Keurig.
