disappointing
*Warning* not sure what the glowing reviews are about.. i wouldn’t recommend this property.The host was easygoing and communicative at first. We asked up front if we could invite friends over etc. but the house itself was far from perfect.From opening the door the place smelled musty and smoky (we’re all non-smokers). Very rough around the edges/party house vibe. There was no toilet paper, no dish soap, no soap in the bathrooms for showering, all the doors squeaked (some wouldn’t even close), shower curtains on the floor, one shower door wouldn’t even close lol.. and the pool was covered in leaves and yard clippings with no cleaning system. Grill barely worked, hot tub broken, pool chairs broken…Regardless we are easy going people who have traveled the country many times over so we got over it and had a fine time. Cleaned everything up and had fun swimming for a few days. However after checking out, after we did all the dishes, tidied the pool area, washed the towels, took out every last piece of garbage, the host still tried to charge us extra for “cleaning” and removing smoke odors (?) we didn’t cause. Asked to be paid outside the app etcJust a bummer overall at the end of the day. I even offered to chip in some extra cash to keep it cordial. Was planning on leaving a positive review but host won’t leave me alone and keeps sending messages.
