The hotel is located right in downtown Loreto. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the beach. Breakfast was good and the rooms were nice. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going for the first time to visit.

Hotel 1697 is truly a hidden gem located right off the main plaza. This was our 4th time staying here after trying a few others in the area. The rooms are always very clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff are helpful , the breakfast is delicious, served poolside. What a great way to start your day!

Very dissapointing

We spent $250 USD for a room that the bathroom door didn't close, the shower came out with no pressure, it would be scalding hot then get freezing cold instantly. There was no shelf to put any of your belongings on. The people above us sounded like they were moving furniture all night. When we tried to check in we were told the office was open at 12, we came back at 12 they told us 1 pm, the person that checked us in didn't understand english or speak any english, so could answer no questions. It is a cute concept but needs a lot of work or lower the price.

The grounds were beautiful. Our room was large and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. It was in a great location. It was very close to restaurants shopping and the beach.

No hot water in shower, although sink had hot water. ?? That was the only negative, plus it is a little loud at night because it is directly on the square and immediately next to the musicians playing well past 10:30. Otherwise very nice.

The hotel was in a great location with lots of dining and bar options within blocks of the hotel. The property was clean and service was great. After check out we were able to stow our luggage for a few hours and they ordered us a taxi to the airport with no issues. Would definitely stay again.
