You have to pay £30pp if you want to use the pool. The room was small, the signage in the corridors is poor, got lost multiple times just trying to leave the hotel. We rung down to reception to ask for some coffee for the room, they brought coffee pods for a coffee machine that wasn’t in the room.

Just about everything was great…lunch and dinner were very good, service was always great, but I had a real problem with the breakfast. I stayed for a week and prepaid for breakfast….for 5 of the days I asked for either 2 fried eggs over easy or boiled eggs runny and I had to send them back every time because they came out dry and hard each time. Either there was a disconnect between the server and the chef or the chef did not know how to cook a runny egg. It became very frustrating once it went past one time.

Beautiful lobby and hotel. The room was lovely but had a musty smell and looks its age. The corridors roo had that musty smell. Good location. Walking distance to city centre. Lots of cafes and restaurants around. Enjoyed the massage treatment at the spa. Was not happy that you have to pay to use the spa services such as swimming pool and sauna. Overall good experience and would recommend.

Hotel staff were brilliant and nothing was too much bother even when I asked if we could change rooms as I felt too claustrophobic in the original room. Decor and surroundings are stunning. I would definitely recommend The Municipal to anyone who is planning a trip to Liverpool
