The staff-Ashley, was really sweet. The bed was comfortable. The hot water is on a timer so hard to get a warm shower. The place had very few plug ins that were accessible for phone chargers, etc. The place really needs updated. But Ashley was great.

Room with King size bed was great, other than being located above the bar/pub. We could hear and feel the bass sounds from the music. Luckily we were tired enough and the music did not go on long into the night. I would not recommend this room during the busy summer nights.

If you’re planing to fish for brown trout in the Cowichan River, the Inn is a fantastic place to stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served in the pub and cafe, pool tables to converse with the locals, and great pillows and bedding. I was truly impressed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The Riverside Inn was great and excellent value. It is very much a help yourself sort of place as the reception wasn’t manned when we arrived, but the staff in the pub had been given our room key, which was good. The room is comfortable and equipped with coffee making things. The bed was amazingly comfortable. We ate in the pub and the food was very tasty and the pub staff super friendly and helpful. For a budget priced stay we thought it was great value and would stay again!

All staff were great, both at front desk and in the pub. I guess the only thing I might update is that the room we booked was listed as having a kitchenette, but there was no cooktop. I suppose a micorwave sorta counts, but I had brought a steak to cook! ;) Nice balcony overlooking the river. Might get an umbrella out there, or maybe an awning for bit of shade. Otherwise, room 18 was great.

This is a charming older hotel with very helpful, friendly staff and a lovely overlook over the river. The room we had was great, updated & spotless. The slight hesitation I have is simply that it is a very old building structurally and had a slightly musty (to me) smell in the lobby/hallway. In addition, I was surprised to learn, only a couple of days before our arrival, that as an old building with a pub on the main floor, there could well be a fait but of sound travel to the rooms above the pub. We were given a room far from the pub and heard very little. Overall a very good experience
