Casa del Río is a true gem in La Fortuna. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature — we saw birds and even monkeys during our stay. The rooms are spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with lovely views that make you feel completely connected to the environment. The staff truly make the experience exceptional: warm, attentive, and always willing to help with recommendations, tours, and transportation. Breakfast was delicious and fresh every morning, and the restaurant is excellent for both lunch and dinner. The location is perfect — close enough to town and attractions, yet quiet and relaxing. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel with outstanding service, comfort, and a genuine Costa Rican feel, Casa del Río is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!

A Hidden Gem by the River – Truly Magical Stay! I had the pleasure of staying at Boutique Casa del Río, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The location is absolutely beautiful — nestled by the river, with peaceful surroundings and a charming ambiance that instantly makes you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated, combining modern comfort with local character. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the attention to detail was impressive. I especially loved waking up to the sound of the river and enjoying my morning coffee on the balcony. What really made this stay exceptional, though, was the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Warm, welcoming, and attentive — they made us feel more like family than guests.

We had an amazing time at Casa Del Rio. The staff were very friendly at check-in and during our stay. We enjoyed the different pools and the fun waterslide. The villa we stayed in was very comfortable and spacious and we really enjoyed having a grill on the deck and being able to self-cater some nights. We enjoyed the breakfast - there was a good selection on the menu and especially Diego was a fantastic waiter who looked after us and the kids really well. The location is really good - just a few minutes from the town but in a nice quiet location and close to the La Fortuna river and waterfall.

Hotel Boutique Casa Del Rio exceeded our expectations. The property was clean, well-maintained, and the staff were exceptionally respectful and friendly. The restaurant service and food were outstanding. I visited with my family, and the warm hospitality and thoughtful accommodations made our stay truly memorable. The lush greenery, inviting pools, and relaxing spa created a peaceful atmosphere that perfectly complemented our visit to La Fortuna. We look forward to returning.

Great location. Secure site. Nice hoop court and gym if you want to pump the blood before your eco tours. … be aware that if your room is close to the river, the sound of the flowing water will be loud. … room update was needed as lamp shade was old/rusty; coffee pot had old coffee in it and overall smell was a bit musty. … staff is attentive and fast in fixing issues. … free breakfast is a bonus with a nice variety.

Amazing staff and beautiful location. The setup of the rooms provides a lot of privacy and beautiful views of rain forest vegetation, animals (butterflies, lizard, hummingbird), volcano and river. Peaceful and relaxing.

The property is just a 2 minute drive from La fortuna its in an excellent location that offers both peace and quiet as well as access to great restaurants and activities. The on site amenities are excellent including the restaurant. The hotel staff is attentive, helpful and very responsive. Id recommend Casa Del Rio to any couple of family in La Fortuna! The resort is beautiful, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are so many things to do on the property, and it’s conveniently close to many activities, including the La Fortuna Waterfall. An amazing place to stay and relax, very safe and welcoming.

Fantastic staff, loved the room so much!! The only thing I would mention is our villa was downhill so the walk up to reception or the restaurant may be tedious for some, especially in the heat.

The property is beautiful, we saw lots of different birds. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant ranges from good to excellent. Their signature cocktails are quite delicious and very reasonably priced. Minor issues with our particular room: USB ports that did not work, but plenty of outlets if you have USB cubes. while there is loads of shelf storage there is no place to hang items other than a couple hooks in the bathroom. The biggest negative for us, since we are light sleepers, or the peacocks. They scream all day and all night. If this is not an issue for you you will have a wonderful time at this hotel. It is beautifully appointed inside and out.

This place was perfect! It was around all the others resorts where it can be crowded. Check in was fast and easy. Resort is literally down the street from the La fortuna downtown area. Not like the other resorts. Restaurant was amazing. Food was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.
