Check in with Sambhava was perfect. Room was great - but dust inside the closets. Front desk often did not understand what we needed. Breakfast at the Pavillion kitchen was chaotic to say the least. Parking was difficult, again, because of communication gap.

I regularly stay at ITC Royal Bengal whenever I visit Kolkata, and since 2022 it has been my preferred hotel for my trips to India. I usually stay for 2–3 weeks each year, and the hotel generally offers a high standard of comfort and hospitality. A special mention to Jay from the Bell Desk, who has been assisting me since my first stay and always remembers me—something I truly appreciate. While the overall stay was comfortable, my breakfast experience this time was disappointing. On multiple mornings, service was slow, I was not attended to promptly, and simple orders took an unusually long time despite arriving early. The breakfast area felt understaffed and poorly coordinated. That said, I want to highlight the excellent service recovery by Debdut Mukherjee, who handled the situation with patience, empathy, and professionalism. He took the time to listen and personally ensured I was taken care of, which made a significant difference. I would also like to acknowledge Rishav and Rohan at the Front Desk, and Traishik from the breakfast team, for their courteous and welcoming behavior. There is room for improvement in breakfast service coordination, but the dedication of certain team members is the reason I continue to choose ITC Royal Bengal for my stays in Kolkata.

9 out of 10. Everything is exceptional except 1 or 2 incident in relation to food hygiene. We stayed here 7 nights and hotel staffs been very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping staffsI Sujay, Krishna, Baban, bishu & prabitra fulfilled all housekeeping & cleaning requirements. Especially Sujay was top-notch & really helpful. Food was delicious including breakfast buffet, lunch buffet & in-room dining. Rahul, who attended us for all our needs, was excellent at his duty & very friendly. Tathagata , duty manager, helped us in many ways in terms of room preference etc, always pro-active, quick on decisions and customer oriented. Thanks to Tathagata for taking care of us when we checked-in late night after long flight. Raajdeep was really helpful. Staff Supriyo was excellent in lunch buffet. Only concern regarding Grand Pavillion breakfast /lunch buffet - staffs don’t follow hygiene norms (bare hands & no gloves), multiple food items left open in buffet however nobody from hotel management staffs bothered about it( multiple buffet manager allocated for buffet management but they were not so friendly / alert / proactive at all), seems under staffed in buffet to attend customer needs. It’s recommended to maintain hygiene so that customer can enjoy delicious items without any concern. We prefer ITC Royal over any other 5 star hotel in Kolkata for its amazing hospitality, spacious apartment option with wheelchair accessibility, friendly staffs at the entrance & excellent bellboys.

Check-in was smooth, and the reception staff upgraded me to a beautiful Exclusive Room with a fantastic view of the city skyline. Service throughout the stay was excellent, from housekeeping to dining. A special mention for the in-room dining team. On the night of December 31st, my sister and I returned late from a gathering and placed an order around 2:30 a.m. Despite the late hour, the team called to confirm the order and delivered freshly cooked, hot food within an hour. That level of service and care truly stood out and made us feel very well looked after. The restaurants were equally impressive, offering high-quality food with a great variety. I also loved spending time at the Sky Lounge. I met friends there a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the live music, ambiance, and overall vibe of the place. What really sets ITC Royal Bengal apart is the balance of luxury, warmth, and professionalism. Every interaction, from the front desk to dining and housekeeping, reflected genuine hospitality. One night in Kolkata before our flight home and wanted to treat ourselves. Fantastic service, all staff very helpful and accommodating, nothing way too much. Pool was quiet and relaxed and a well equipped gym. Breakfast was amazing! Lots of choice with local favourites and our waiter Aditya was amazing and arrange a lovely cake for use to take away. Will certainly be coming back.
