Doesn't have a five star ambience. Grandeur was missing.

Old property. Towels were not cleaned. The floors are not cleaned. It looked like a run down Las Vegas Hotel.

Staff needs more training, it was not pleasant experience.

This is not a 5 star hotel, may be 3 at best. I booked for two

I stayed at the Residence Room no. 307 between Dec 22nd thru Dec 31st 2013. Having stayed at many hotel’s across the globe, I must mention that this one was truly a fantastic experience and it started off great with the welcoming Sandesh (a very popular and traditional sweetmeat of Kolkata) The entire staff was always smiling, always ready and always available to make my a stay a satisfying one. All Managers (Restaurants, Housekeeping, Room Service, Lobby) made pleasant conversations and kept constant checks on my satisfaction. The restaurants (Saffron & Zen, amongst others) had really great food and I must give a special shout-out to the gratifyingly laid-out breakfast buffet spread every morning, which helped to start the day off so well. The live band at Someplace Else played good music and the place was nice to unwind with a drink and live music, after a long day. While I did not get an opportunity to visit the very popular dance place, Tantra, and with all the good things I’ve heard about it, I will look forward to dropping-by, during my next trip. This hotel is definitely highly recommend for people who love pampering, hassle-free staying, swift room service, clean housekeeping, comparable & reasonable rates, staying in the heart of the city and being within walking distance of all the delightful hullabaloo, that the great city of Kolkata has to offer. Will look forward to a repeat stay at The Park in Kolkata, as this place deserves it.

The hotel has a perfect location in the heart of Kolkata - but that was the best thing going for it. Took 30 minutes for the staff to check me in, the room was dark as most of the lights didn't work, and the TV remote had no batteries. Not worth the 5 star price I paid. I recommend the Hyatt Regency instead.

Where to start with the park... I know, how about when I checked the option for a more expensive room because it had a double and single bed, only to learn that the room didn't exist! Not sure if that chestnut was [...]or the Park, but it was a nice hint of things to come. For fancying themselves hip and modern, the small rooms are already in need of an update. The wood is warn and the sinks are beginning to look tired. The design's a little haphazard as well. I could not learn how to work the lights after three days, and there is no way to shower without hosing the floor. Speaking of the bathroom, it feels like you're sitting next to the bed because there's a floor to ceiling glass window looking out. It's also only separated from the main area by a small door. You'll def think twice about dropping a deuce with your girl in the next room because you'll never find the fan...Did you include breakfast with your room? Better bring a printout of your ticket because they won't believe you otherwise. Oh and the kicker - We chose the Park to be close to the nightlife, but could not get into either of it's two clubs because we had four single men with us. "Too many bachelors" they said, which was odd because it was a stream of dudes walking past us into the club. I told the manager that was ludicrous and embarrassing for me and the friends I'd hoped to host. After fifteen minutes of attempting to reason with him he told us we could walk through the club for 'a drink', but said they'd come pull us out after 15 minutes. The Tantra manager was rude and the whole thing was insulting. Finally made it to the pool at ten fifteen. Wouldn't you know it, they close it at ten. Sound like your idea of fun? Me neither, next time I'll spend my rupees on a good holiday.
