Cold reception. Lazy & unprofessional front desk. Cozy rooms...maintenance on property too poor. Water dripping toilet..mostly in category as mid range hotels at hong kong. Not at all recommendable for business or corporate traveler. Major crowd: Bangladesh tourists, flight services etc.
I did booking online on their official page, and I didn’t know that their chal won time is 2 pm so I reached early, ya I had to wait but hotel staff were very good they explained the hotel check in timing in a calm manner but later they upgraded my room to the suite, have no words it’s an amazing hotel to stay will come soon park...
I stayed for three nights in 2017-18 and paid 43800 INR in advance for only stay and breakfast. The check -in was okay. I found Mr Devdeep at the front desk quite cooperative. The decor and ambience was average. The room was not big considering the amount i had paid. The sleep quality was good. The breakfast was average. The swimming pool water was ice cold and i did not find any life guard on duty. Most of the staffs were snobbish. What i could understand was that the major revenue of the hotel comes from the discos/pubs. on 31st night there was utter chaos with the place being filled with teenagers and bouncers. Overall the stay was not worth the money i spent.
The Park hotel Kolkata has been a great place for me stay in. The staff there has been extremely helpful and hospitable. JP Rai at the bell desk has taken care of me with utmost enthusiasm and always willing to help. He has been working there for years and has been extremely committed to his work. Fantastic to see staff like them making it easy for their guests.
I stayed at The Park in Kolkata for a business trip. It is located in perhaps the most happening part of the city, surrounded by great restaurants and night-life. The hotel itself has some of the best restaurants in the city, and I heard that the in-house club Tantra is the most favorite in the city. Since I was on a tight schedule, I did not get to experience a lot of what the hotel has to offer. One thing that stood out for me was the professionalism and courtesy of all the staff with whom I interacted at the Hotel. The breakfast buffet was great as well. Overall, highly recommended, and I will definitely want to stay there again.
Well I have celebrated this New Year with Park and its was an amazing night. Full of life and energy. Some how I missed my wallet in one of their restaurants and before I could realise where I lost my bag, I personally received a call from Atanu their lost and found department verifying my documents and cash I had. It’s was truly overwhelming. I have never expected that losing a bag in new year eve I will get back next day. Thank you once again for your true hospitality.
I am a Starwood Gold Level member, and had stayed in this property for 17 nights in 2017. Also I have stayed here approx 5-10 nights every year for the past 4-5 years. It is getting worse and worse in every visit. This time I spent 10 nights. Being a gold level member, I had requested a room in the front side of the hotel on Park street. I was told upon checkin by the front desk that I will be given a room in the front side - but I was given room 341 which faces the back side. It was not that rooms were not available, but the front desk receptionist was just lazy and unprofessional. I had a 10 night stay - the 110 v power socket in the bathroom did not work. I called housekeeping 4 times - no result. I had requested a room change - no result. I could not shave the last 4 days of my stay as my shaver ran out of power. Upon returning on one afternoon, I found that the housekeeping staff had left my room door open and went somewhere else. I walked into my room and he did not appear before another 2 minutes. In those 2 minutes or more, anyone else could have walked into my room - this is not acceptable in terms of safety. Overall, terrible terrible experience. This property is far below Starwood minimum standards, and the Management/GM is simply not doing his job well. I refuse to stay in this property again - although it is very conveniently located in the heart of the city.
The Park hotel a wonderful option for travellers interested in experiencing the centre of Kolkata with its beautiful colonial buildings, historic architecture, restaurants dating back decades if not more (such as Trincas, Oasis, Flury’s), and vibrant street culture. The rooms are well designed and fully updated and very comfortable. The staff is excellent and food at the hotel restaurants is fabulous!
Loved ambience, courteous front desk. Room service not so great- delays and they didnot bring my order and I gave up. Taxis are available at all hours which is great. Close to lot of eateries and Oxford Book store which is great... Park would attract more people if they provided discounted prices.
This hotel has lost its edge. We have stayed 26-30 December, 2017. The guy doing the checkin suddenly disappeared and I have to remind them again after 30 minutes that my check in still pending. I was given a smoking room wrongly and they again shifted me to another room. The shower tap came off every day in total 3 times and water overflowing. Staff don't greet the guests and they don't even try for service recovery.
