You'll make that walk a dozen times this week — sunscreen in hand, beach chairs over your shoulder, kids already racing ahead. Come back in the afternoon, rinse off under the outdoor shower, argue over who gets the hot tub first, and let the evening unfold. Rooftop sunsets. Fire pit s'mores. Movie night on the projector. This is the Outer Banks the way it's supposed to feel.

ABOUT THIS SPACE

Sandy Shenanigans is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath coastal cottage that sleeps up to 9 guests, built around one idea: everyone should have something to do and no one should have to fight over space.

The open-concept main floor is where the group naturally lands between adventures. A wide sectional anchors the living area with a Smart TV and French doors that open to the covered deck, so inside and outside blur in the best possible way. The sectional converts to a sleeper sofa — giving the ninth guest a real bed, not an afterthought.

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking: full-size appliances, ample counter space, wine glasses, a blender, a baking sheet, and a dedicated coffee station with a Keurig, branded Sandy Shenanigans mugs, and a K-cup carousel stocked and ready. A skylight fills the space with natural light. The farmhouse dining table seats the whole group at once.

Sleeping arrangements are set up for families. The primary king suite opens directly to the rooftop deck via sliding glass doors — your first five seconds awake can be spent standing outside in the ocean breeze. This room has a dedicated workspace and Smart TV. The queen bedroom features nautical decor, two windows, and bedside reading lamps. The bunk room has a full-over-full bunk with a twin trundle, wall-mounted TV, deck access, and enough coastal character to feel like a real room, not just overflow sleeping space.

Outside is where Sandy Shenanigans earns its reputation. The rooftop deck has lounge chairs and shade umbrellas with a slight ocean view. The covered wraparound porch is furnished for lounging any hour. The backyard fire pit is ringed by six navy Adirondack chairs with overhead string lights — where the best conversations happen after the kids go to bed. The covered game area has a JOOLA ping pong table and a foosball table with wind-blocking walls and string lights overhead. The private hot tub runs 24 hours year-round. The movie room — with a ceiling-mounted projector and full-size screen — handles every rainy afternoon and late-night watch party.

- Jockey's Ridge State Park (10 min): The tallest natural sand dune on the East Coast. Climb it at sunset.
- Outer Banks Brewing Station (5 min): Seafood-forward OBX menu with craft beers brewed on-site. A KDH institution.

The entire home is yours for your stay. Self check-in via smart lock — your code arrives before 4:00 PM check-in. All bedrooms, bathrooms, rooftop deck, game area, movie room, and hot tub are fully accessible.

Free parking for up to 4 vehicles on the concrete driveway.

HOUSE RULES

Check-in: 4:00 PM. Checkout: 10:00 AM. Max 9 guests. Pets welcome — please notify us in advance. No smoking or vaping indoors. Outdoor quiet hours begin at 10 PM out of respect for neighbors. We respond to messages within an hour and are easy to reach throughout your stay. Trash pickup is Monday and Thursday.
