In desperate need of updating...

This hotel is in desperate need of updating. The decor in our room appeared to be Victorian refurbished in the 1970's without any work since. The wallpaper, carpet, curtains, the slate fireplace, and shower fixtures all were outdated and unattractive. The mattress on our bed was so old and springy, we found it very uncomfortable. The photos on the Hotels.com page for this hotel simply were not reflective of the real condition of this hotel. I would not want to stay there again. The people preparing and serving breakfast were very nice and professional, but that was the only good thing about our stay.

Very basic hotel. Small room on the top floor, with many stairs to climb. No elevator. Five minutes walk from the town center and shops. Clean. Nice breakfast. There is parking for 4-5 cars on site, which we used. I believe it has expensive, considering what you get.

Room was spacious, bathroom could do with updating, breakfast very good although temp chef on second day and took a while. There was a half used soap left on shower tray. Location good but only a few parking spaces at hotel so needed to park in the street if possible or at the long stay car park.

While there was nothing wrong with the hotel, it was clean and tidy, and the staff were all very friendly and polite, I felt it was overpriced for the room we were given. Room 19 is on the main floor at the back of the hotel leading off a public sitting area next to the bar and dining room. It felt more like a budget room than an executive room as advertised on the hotel website. Possibly the rooms upstairs are to a higher standard. Since I knew the area I did know in advance that the parking for the hotel was limited and planned to find street parking, but since it advertises as parking available others should be aware that it is a very small car park with room for about 5 small cars only. I probably won't stay at the hotel again as I did not think it was good value for money.

If you like to experience hospitality of the Lake District The Keswick Park Hotel and the town in general is for you! Clean rooms, great breakfast and restaurant for dinner, outdoor seating if weather is good, wonderful, friendly staff. Across the quiet street is beautiful Fitz Park with grass tennis courts, outdoor table tennis, colorful gardens and ice cream stand. Easy walking to several trail heads, center of town pubs, market, and lake. Bus accesses as well. A movie theater and playhouse are also there. View of the mountains from some of the rooms. We were there for 9 days and wanted to stay longer. Hope to return someday. We flew into Heathrow, next day took train from Euston Station to Carlyle and rented a car-but we didn’t really need to rent a car -if we got off at Penrith could have taken an uber or bus. Our only issue with the Hotel is that parking is a little tricky-there are only 5 spaces and we weren’t told of the nearby streets to park for free nearby -we looked at the towns website after paying for several days at a parking lot. So, if the staff could provide that info at check in it would be helpful.

Keswick hotel stay

Great central location. Showers had very little power. Not what you want after a days hiking. Breakfast started at 8am whixh is a liitle late if you are on a hiking holiday and need to get to a start point early to park the car. Very limited parking at the hotel.

Very nice hotel right in the heart of Keswick. Room was very clean, good size with views over Skiddaw! Breakfast was very good and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Nothing to complain about at all Would definitely recommend to others and be happy to stay again Thank you.
