We had the pleasure of staying in this lovely, centrally located historic Kennebunk house for the Christmas Prelude weekend! This is a very well appointed, immaculate house, with old world charm and new amenities. Between new pots and pans, new bedding, new dishes, towels, and the most comfortable beds, it was the best of everything, INCLUDING a great night's sleep! The welcome binder was easy to understand, and included great suggestions for local activities, places to eat, medical facilities, vet offices (SUPER helpful since they are dog friendly!), and more. My parents, their dog Brynn, and I enjoyed 2 full days of fun and festivities, as the house is only a 7ish min drive into the port. There is a lot to do in K'port, but also in Kennebunk! The house is walking distance to a wonderful natural food store with local and organic goodies, walkable to a Dairy Queen, walkable to a great pub (Duffy's for dinner!) and, thought a slightly longer walk or quick drive, there is an ice skating rink about 3/4 to 1 mile away from the house! Hannaford (for all of your needs) is less than 4 minutes away. I really can't say enough about this house, the friendliness of the owners, the cleanliness of the property, and how much we enjoyed ourselves. We would not hesitate to go back again if the opportunity presents! Thank you Patrick and Erin!
A few words of advice? If you're super tall (6'3" or over) the shower might be a bit tight for you. It has a low ceiling, but still worth a stay! The sprayer detaches, so you can chill in the tub and not have to duck too much ;) I'm 4'11", so I don't have that problem at all.
And if you go for prelude time, be prepared for insane traffic and difficult parking and a LOT of walking in K'port. For the opening ceremony there was a free shuttle (donation accepted) that was at the Sea Road school not far from this house, and that made all the difference the first night. I honestly wish they had run it all weekend--would have happily paid even!
