Indulge in the serenity that will be yours as you sleep with the sound of singing frogs and crashing waves. Awaken to birds chirping and warm, tropical breezes. Appointed with everything you need in a beautiful, architecturally unique and impeccably furnished, open floor plan home. Whether it be quiet afternoons with a book on the lanai, or days filled with waterfall hikes and swimming with turtles, you will create incredible memories here!
THE SPACE
When you arrive at THE HOUSE OF THE FULL MOON you will first notice the lovely botanical gardens surrounding the property with several types of palms, orchids, hibiscus, and bromeliads.
You will enter through a beautiful brass patina front door into a bright sunroom space with two stories of windows that look out onto ancient pahoehoe lava that flowed through this area 400 years ago and colorful, tropical landscaping.
Ascend onto the main level where you will enjoy a grand, open concept room with comfortable couches, flat screen TV, BOSE surround sound system, and beautiful furnishings.
Sliding glass doors welcome you to the large lanai (porch) that wraps around the entire front of the home offering a birds-eye view of the gorgeous gardens below and the Pacific Ocean out in front of you as you enjoy your morning coffee or happy hour cocktail.
The full-service kitchen is equipped with everything you will need including matching white plates, bowls and cups, glassware, pint glasses, wine and champagne glasses. silverware, pots, pans, blender, toaster, rice cooker, hand mixer, baking dishes and trays, glass storage containers, Brita water filter and more. Basic condiments are provided including ketchup, mustard, mayo, soy sauce and hot sauce. We have a propane barbecue grill at the rear of the property for your use as well.
For coffee and tea lovers, we offer a Keurig hot beverage maker, a French Press as well as a drip coffee maker. We provide a few coffee pods and tea bags as well to get you started.
The dining table seats 6 with a view of the ocean and a large window overlooking the back gardens and palm trees.
The upstairs bedroom has a comfy king sized bed with a sliding glass door to the lanai. There is plenty of space for you to unpack your belongings including a chest with shelves, as well as a large walk-in closet with luggage racks.
The generous upstairs bathroom has an antique Asian sink cabinet and a large, custom tiled walk-in shower appointed with organic green tea- lemongrass shampoo and bodywash as well as Moroccan hair conditioner.
The first floor of the home has an expansive open, cozy bedroom suite with 2 queen beds and a full-sized pull-out couch, 2 chairs and a double wide sliding glass door that leads out onto the main level porch and gardens. There are two very large closets with shelving for all of your belongings. There is a large, new flat screen TV for your entertainment.
The first-floor bathroom also has an antique Asian sink cabinet as well as an amazing, private OUTDOOR SHOWER beautifully made with a lava privacy wall and a custom tile shower with orchids and plants. (No one will see you except one of the many wild canaries on the property or a passerby gecko )
The laundry room is clean and bright with a washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board. Provided are a few laundry pods, dryer sheets and spot remover.
The landing has a large antique desk where you can work in a bright space. Under the stairs we store some beach necessities for you such as beach towels and boogie boards.
The location is special, peaceful and a real escape to paradise. You are close enough for day trips to enjoy all the many offerings of the East side of the island and are secluded in a wonderful neighborhood of friendly neighbors. Enjoy the area and take a sunset stroll through its rainforest wonderment!
GUEST ACCESS
You will have access to the entire house and grounds. The attached garage is for the private use of the owner. For your privacy, the garage will not be accessed during your stay.
OTHER:
We are good neighbors and strictly enforce the required QUIET HOURS from 9:00 pm to 8:00 am during which time the noice from the home shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors.
There is no regular trash collection service in this area. Please use the trash cans behind the house that will be emptied after your visit. If you generate an excessive amount of rubbish/recycling during your stay, we kindly ask that you “do as the locals” and dispose of it at the local transfer station which is super easy and fast and right on the way to the airports and Hilo.

We collect a minimal cleaning fee that includes cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces between stays. We ask for your support in keeping our fees as low as possible by returning all items to where you found them and respectful and reasonable care for all items in the house. Unusual and excessive cleaning needs may incur additional fees.

Nice rental
Overall great rental. Quiet, relaxing stay with ocean view. Very nice lanai, updated property. Walking on beach/lava. Well-stocked kitchen utensils, etc. Would be nice if property was more prepared for arrival - windows opened, porch/furniture setup and cleaned. Did not have extra supplies - trash bags, paper towel, sponges, etc.

Peaceful Hawaiian getaway
We enjoyed the location of this property in relation to the National Valcano Park, and beaches. The house is very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meal's. There are only a few restaurants close by. We will definitely recommend this to friends.
