Loved the location, right on the ocean and next door to the Coconut Marketplace, which had good dining options and an ABC Store. The hotel's renovation included many fun features and lovely spaces. There are several water stations on property so hydration was always good. Even though we visited many beaches on Kauai, the one right at our hotel was all we really needed. There is a wonderful boardwalk right from the property and a well-marked trail that goes for miles north of the property. Daily housekeeping was thorough and coffee pods replenished daily. Yoga on the beach was great...a one-hour free class every day. We didn't use the bikes, but there were always some available. Parking was confusing at first, but we got the hang of it. The Lava Lava Beach Club with B-L-D is not operated by the hotel so no charges back to the room. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others!

This is a little gem of a hotel. The rooms are very well designed and tasteful. The grounds are extremely well kept up and the beach is practically outside your doorstep. Plus, the lava lava beach club is a huge bonus with excellent food, great service and wonderful entertainment at night. Would stay here again in a minute!

Wanted to love it, but attention to detail is lacking and rooms need a deep clean. Offered wine or chocolate at check in, received neither until I went back to ask how to get it. Discussed parking at check in , but was not give a parking pass. That was another trip to the desk. Bath gel dispenser in shower was empty at check in Housekeeping did not clean room in a timely manner - we were gone from 7 am to 2pm daily and the room was only cleaned one time. Floors in the room are so filthy, dirt washed off the soles of our feet every shower (we take 2 a day) and random hairs (not ours) came along for the ride. They need to deep clean the floors and carpet. Fair warning: our lanai door was not locked when we arrived. Had we not checked, that would have been a security problem.

It is hard to enjoy the "aloha spirit" when you’re checking the sheets with a flashlight every night. I really wanted to love this resort, but unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by a series of safety and hygiene concerns. The most upsetting part of our trip was finding a cockroach on my daughter’s pillow while she was still in bed. She was absolutely terrified and refused to go to sleep for the rest of the trip.The rest of the family felt incredibly uncomfortable every night, constantly expecting to find more pests crawling in our sheets. Room & Property Condition The hotel is only partially renovated, and the age shows in ways that affect comfort. Noise: The walls offer very little soundproofing, and the patio doors were extremely squeaky. Amenities:We loved the fire pits and gas lights initially,but they were turned off halfway through our stay.Seeing the neighboring hotel’s lights still on made it feel like this property simply ran out of propane or gave up on the ambiance. Safety:the top of the beach swing actually broke and fell, nearly hitting my child. The Food:The restaurant location is unbeatable and the live music was a wonderful touch.Pricy. Perks: The hot/cold water dispensers were very convenient, and we appreciated the yoga classes and free valet parking. Summary: While the staff was great,I cannot recommend a hotel where pests are found in the bedding and equipment is falling apart.For the price,we expected higher standard of maintenance & hygiene.

Central location - nice if planning both north and south island adventures. Well-kept grounds. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant pricing high but reasonable for location - hit the food carts in Kapa'a for tasty bites on a budget. Rooms clean and serviced nightly. Back lot fills early - tip the valet for hassle-free parking.

The room was updated and clean. I loved having access to bikes to ride on the paved trail that goes along the coast. The only drawback is that parking is limited. When we returned late, we had to use the valet parking, which is complementary but we needed to leave a tip. The location is good being next to a shopping area and an incredible coffee shop. The workers were very friendly and helpful too.

Overall a clean room and convenient location. Grounds were pretty and nice beach in front of hotel. I'm not sure what resort fees were for....there was yoga on the lawn in the mornings but signs at location said would cost $20/day. The one day (of our 3 day stay) I tried to get beach towels, the front desk told me they were out and tried to give me more bath towels. Parking was a nightmare after about 6pm. They said to use valet service if couldn't find a spot but we found that inconvenient.

Staff were great. Always helpful and gave delightful suggestions for enjoying Kauai. Room was good, location central and having a pool/hot tub alongside a wonderful ocean view with beach made it a special vacation time.

Great location, nice outdoor hang spot On a beach. Super great sleep! Only things we didn’t like were the surprise 30$ a day resort fee :( hard hit, parking was hard though the do have valet we didn’t want to use without being able to tip, and people slammed doors a bit. Ohhh and fridge but no microwave- that would have been nice. Overall a great trip!
