Hanoi bugs
The property we booked was not the one we found on arrival as evident by the pictures. It was late at night, after traveling for 20 hours, so decided to stay. Within a couple of hours of sleep, we were being bit by bedbugs, so moved to the couch which was falling apart. The linens for the bed and bathroom were sparse and did not smell clean. The dishcloth for the kitchen was just a ratty old piece of rag and the sponge was used and filthy. We could not access the tv either.
The apartment smelled of cigarette smoke as well.
We contacted the owner and his assistant regarding these issues and left this property as soon as we could after one night stay. We were not refunded the amount for the days we did not stay.
On a positive note, the owner had put us in contact with his assistant prior to arrival and she was very helpful with arrangements for taxi and entry to the property.
There are many options in Hanoi and this is one I would not recommend choosing..
