The room was poorly maintained with broken flooring. The shower smelt bad and there were bugs. We complained and the receptionist offered a slightly better room but there were still bugs and so we immediately left and went to a different hotel. I am surprised this is rated above 9.0 on Hotels.com

The best part about this hotel was Lucy, her excellent service and genuine interactions to help ensure our stay was great made our stay at this hotel worth it. The AC was super helpful and worked well too! Breakfast was not included however many places were near to eat. The hotel was located at a good spot.

Property is very out dated and dirty. The wallpaper of the room is ripped, and the floor are very dusty and dirty. I don’t think the rooms have been thoroughly cleaned. Very disappointed with my visit as I expected it to be a lot better condition. The photos of the hotel did not capture this at all.

Did not even stay one night, very dirty rooms

I initially booked this room due to the good reviews on this website, and the pictures looked promising. However on arrival, there was quite a lot of issues that we encountered. We booked two rooms but initially only got one room and had to make the staff aware of this. The first room's door had a large gap in it and was difficult to lock. The bathroom had soap scum on the floors and in the shower, the toilet and surrounding floor was visibly dirty. The sheets on the bed had rips in them. The second room's bathroom was also quite dirty. There was hair on the bedroom and bathroom floors. There was also drops of blood on the floor next to the bed and bedside table. I am unsure if the rooms had been cleaned properly prior to our arrival. We were supposed to stay here for 6 nights but did not even stay for 3 hours due to feeling very uncomfortable with the living situation. We booked elsewhere and instantly felt more secure and comfortable. The benefit of this hotel is the location, as it is quite close to everything in the Old Quarter. The bedrooms are larger compared to other hotels also. If you are looking for convenience and a fairly priced hotel, and are not too concerned about the standard of cleanliness then I would recommend this for you. I however would not recommend staying here to my friends and family.

I do not recommend this hotel. Two towels for two people, no other towels or hand cloths. Shower lacked shelves so soap etc had to be outside on sink. No water kettle. Coffee cups but no coffee. Safe inoperative. TV inoperative. Cobwebs in corners. Room musty with mildew. No comp water. Stay away.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is situated in a very quaint alley with the cathedral at the end of the alley. The hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem lake. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The facilities at the hotel however are a bit tired and worn and could do with some upgrade. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay again.

I stay here whenever i am in Hanoi. Its perfect for my needs. Its well kept and the host always helps me make travel arrangements even when i am in other parts of Vietnam. Also i was able to store my luggage here. The rooms are clean and very spacious

This is a little gem of a hotel and in such a picturesque part of Hanoi near the cathedral and off a very charming street with lots of cute restaurants and shops as well as historic buildings and beautiful trees. Nearby is a convenience store and its easy to catch the bus from here to other parts of Vietnam as well as easy walking to the lake and all the amazing sights of Hanoi old quarter. The rooms are spacious, very clean and well maintained and the host was so extremely helpful to me. I was really happy i found this place and i already booked it for my return trip into the city

First impressions didn't last.

Excellent location in the old quarter, easy walking distance to most places. At first glance, the room looked fine. However the TV, hairdryer and room safe didn't work. Despite reporting this to reception, nothing was done about it. The lid was also broken off the kettle. The lovely wooden tissue dispenser had no tissues and the fridge was set to max meaning the bottles of water and cans of beer provided (for use at a cost) were all frozen solid. The bed was made and the towels changed daily however the level of cleanliness left something to be desired. The sink area clearly wasn't cleaned, the run off marks from my toothbrush were there all week and a quick peek behind the bathroom curtain revealed that area hadn't been cleaned in years. The floor wasn't clean either, my grey socks soon had black soles. It's a shame because these are issues that could easily be fixed.
