Waitomo Village Chalets Home of Kiwipaka
5/5 Excellent
"We spent two nights in Waitomo, and so happy they were spent at the Village Chalet. The room was very comfortable. Comfy bed. Heater kept us warm as temperatures dropped at night. Balcony a nice amenity to enjoy the rare sunny days. Very quiet at night. Erik and Lisa are superb hosts. Long before we booked the room they were giving us advice about getting to and around Waitomo. This was a stop off along the Northern Explorer train and because it’s off season transport to Waitomo is virtually impossible to arrange. Erik and Lisa generously offered to pick us up and then take us back to the train. It was a “vacation” saver. We enjoyed the glow worm caves even more knowing our transport needs were sorted. We highly recommend staying here. It’s a small town but the local pub serves up delicious food and the general store makes a lovely cup of coffee. If we ever find ourselves in Waitomo again we will definitely stay here."
