Cary is a wonderful, responsive host! The home is beautifully designed and impeccably clean. Any minor issues were handled promptly and professionally, which we greatly appreciated.One note for future guests: the listing indicates Bedroom 5 has 6 beds, and even when I asked for clarity, I was told it could accommodate up to 10 guests. Unfortunately, this did not work well for our adult group. While the four double beds are comfortable, the trundle bed is not suitable for adults. This setup is fine for families or small children (the trundle), but it did not meet the needs of our women’s retreat.Overall, it’s a phenomenal home, and I would happily book again for a family stay or smaller group—just not for a group of 12 adult women.

Our family joined us at the Sandpiper House to celebrate our son's graduation from University of Houston. We had a fabulous time!! The home was perfect for all 12 of us and we never ran out of hot water!! Cary was excellent with responding to all of our questions. Definitely Five Star hosts!

The property was beautiful, very nicely appointed, and pristinely immaculate. We rated the pool as good simply because we never had a chance to use it during our stay. We were, however, very impressed with the design and beauty of that area. The only reason we rated the house as good instead of excellent is due to a couple of problems that we encountered. The king bedroom on the west side of the house would never cool down and was too uncomfortably warm for one of our friends to sleep in. She was forced to sleep in the bunk room next to it which maintained a nice cool temperature - so maybe a ductwork issue?? There was an issue with the TVs in the upstairs bedrooms. We could only get them to turn on, but we could never do anything past that. Could never get them to move from the initial page to any setting to allow us to watch an actual show, movie, or program, and could never find any instructions on how to explain how to get it to a useable playing mode. Because we were on a tight schedule we never had time to report these problems.And we also wanted the owners to know that when we arrived there was water on the kitchen floor and what looked like some buckling on the ceiling just as you stepped into the kitchen from the dining room, so there may be a small leak somewhere. We do want to say that we had a wonderful time at the Sandpiper and we would love to come back in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!

Great Historic Galveston Property

We had a lovely stay at the Sandpiper for a dance competition with 5 moms and daughters. It was well located and convenient to The Strand and Seawall. Great home, overall!
