Very nice and Comfortable
My long time friend and I decided to get away for a few days, it was at last minute idea. We decided to go to Fountain City/Winona area to be by the river and see that part of Wisconsin/Mn. Enjoyed our time to relax and shop. The Farmhouse apartment is very nice and is exactly as described. If you love old charm in a small town, you will enjoy your stay.

Wonderful stay on Great River Road!
Our family took a short Midwest road trip before school starts back up, and one of our stops was this great “apartment” in Fountain City. We were visiting the area with our two teens to check out my husband's alma mater (St. Mary's of Minnesota). The renovations maintain the vintage original features (beautiful fllorrs, woodwork, windows), but incorporate the modern conveniences — it feels like staying in a home. I particularly liked the vintage cabinets combined with the "modern farmhouse" vibe in the kitchen, the formal dining room, and the large, spotless bathroom.
The owners are very communicative, check in was easy. A note about the trains and the road - We barely noticed the trains or the traffic, so unless you are very sensitive, seems lie a non-issue.
I addition to our visit to campus, the area has a lot to offer -- fishing on the Mississippi, walking up the bluffs, antiques, the oldest continuously operating pub in Wisconsin, the Legendary Monarch Public House. Sunsets over the river are beautiful.
Highly recommend this property!

Roomy, Beautiful and Convenient
The “apartment” was much roomier than we expected from the photos. Usually it’s the opposite. It was clean and well appointed. Two couples would have plenty of living space. The extent of our cooking was brewing coffee, but there seemed to be enough pots and pans to fry some eggs, make a frozen pizza, and a grill for burgers or steaks. We stayed five nights to see the surrounding area - Winona, La Crosse, Pepin, Stockholm, area parks, and some relatives in Rochester. Great central location with very easy street access. The river view is nice. We were never disturbed by the rail traffic, but then we live in one of the suburbs surrounding O’Hare. :) Local restaurants were OK. We really enjoyed Sliced on Center Street in Winona, and for our date night, the Nosh restaurant on Walnut in Winona was spectacular. Equally nice was the Harbor View Cafe in Pepin, right before our sunset sailboat ride on Pepin Lake. We highly recommend this house. We will consider bringing more of our family in the future and rent the entire home.

Hope to stay here again
Lovely accommodations with a wonderful view and setting. Thoughtfully appointed, we enjoyed all the amenities the host provided. Sleeping arrangements were very comfortable and the living area by the fireplace was a wonderful place to relax, watch the river or view something on the TV.

Lovely Home / Easy Process
We just stayed for one night between local site seeing. Property beat our expectations in every way. Very clean and roomy place to stay and everything worked as advertised. For an older house we were pleasantly surprised by the overall space and very nice bathroom. Doubt you'll find a nicer place for the price anywhere!

Great place to stay
This is a charming place to stay in and a nice walk friendly location with lovely views of the Mississippi river. We stayed with a 9-yr old kid and a 7 month old Lab in the lower apartment for four nights during spring break.
The two bedrooms are comfortable and surprisingly quiet even with the trains. The host thoughtfully provided a white noise machine and ear plugs, which we didn’t have to use. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom very clean. The TVs in the apartment were conveniently setup with automatic clearing of login credentials to various streaming services upon checkout.
Our kid and pup enjoyed hanging out in the house, and playing and lounging in the lovely terraced backyard.
Several good restaurants are at a walking distance from the apartment and so are the community parks. This location is 10 mins drive to Winona, MN and close to Alma, WI. We also enjoyed visiting Kinstone, where we got to see lovely granite sculptures, connect with nature and farm animals and cats if you like them! We also enjoyed hiking in the nearby Merrick State park.
The host (Logan) was very responsive - we misplaced check-in instructions but he walked us through the process when we called. Logan also was kind enough to ship some things we forgot at the property when we checked out and promptly texted back to questions we had during our stay.
We would definitely come back.

Great VRBO to stay at while visiting WSU college child.
We worked with Logan to coordinate an impromptu weekend visit to the Winona area to spend time with our child who attends WSU. Logan was courteous and accommodating in helping us book last minute travel. The property was just a pictured. It was clean, spacious and welcoming. We weren't sure if your child wanted to crash with us during the visit (which she did) and the place was perfect for nesting. There were 2 couches for 3 people to sprawl out on, a kitchen with everything you could need, comfortable beds. Husband says it's been his favorite place to stay when we visit Winona.

Nice place!
We stayed in the Farmhouse apt with 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, living room and dining room. It was really lovely!! Lots of windows with some overlooking the River. The one thing we didn’t realize was that there were 3 other apartments/guest rooms within the house so there was a little noise from the other guests walking around upstairs and in the room next to one of our bedrooms but it didn’t bother us too much. There are white noise machines in the bedrooms which block out most noise. The place was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries and were very hospitable. We would stay again!

Charming Getaway
I would've given this an overall 5 star rating, HOWEVER, we were really disappointed that although there are photos with a working fireplace, there are no fires allowed inside. The listing description should call out that fires are not allowed. The staff was extremely responsive to communications and when we asked for the heat to be turned up, they quickly accommodated. Decorating is really cozy and the beds were comfortable (with plenty of extra blankets in the closet). Walking distance to local bars & restaurants. Thank you!
