The location was perfect! We were a short walk from all the sights, and there were great restaraunts right next door and nearby. We stayed in the Da Vinci room and the room was spacious with enough space for our family of 4 and was clean. The staff was accommodating and responsive. Loved our stay here.

This place is not accessible whatsoever. There were three large flights of stairs that we had to drag our bags up in order to get to our room. On top of that, the staff were not friendly or very helpful. When we checked in, they literally took five minutes sitting on their phones before they greeted us. Then, when we realized that the property had so many stairs (a bigger issue for us than most people, as my mom has severe mobility issues), they offered no further assistance. Of course, it’s not like they could magically remove the stair when we arrived, but they could have at least offered to help us with our bags or have offered a refund should we need to switch hotels. But they couldn’t care less. I won’t be recommending this place to any friends interested in visiting Florence. As for hotel cleanliness, we did not see any signs of housekeeping while we stayed there and we were provided with only one roll of toilet paper. Additionally, the mini fridge was not functioning properly.

Although the location was convenient for getting around, the property was quite run down, and not clean at all. The washroom floor was still wet when we arrived, and there was a lot of black and red mold inside the showers which is a health hazard as well…we also noticed a lot of mosquitos and moths, and a lot of noise from the windows although they were closed

It was very close to many things, good restaurants around the area. The place is nice and roomy. I didn’t like that there is a charge fee of 30 euros for checking in after 6pm, it’s only free if you check in between 3-6pm. I never had to pay an Extra fee for checking in at 7pm in any stay or hotel anywhere in my trips. And bring extra toilet paper, we contacted them to bring more but didn’t receive response until next day, other then that Florence is beautiful and we were happy to stay very close to many activities.

Dirty and very old mattresses

The bathroom was dirty and it had soap scum all over the shower. The sofa beds were not comfortable and they didn’t have a fitted sheet which made it difficult to sleep as the flat sheet kept coming off. The mattresses also had a big indentation in the middle.

Great Location - Not so Great Service

Great location and walking distance from everywhere we needed to go. However, No air conditioning in the room. No lift or elevator. No porter or concierge. 2 ladies had to carry 40-50 pound bags up and down three flights of stairs. We could have been seriously injured. We didn’t see anyone after checking in for three nights. No room service like clean towels, trash emptied or toilet paper.

Overall an awesome stay and would recommend (for those that can sleep through street noise). Service: Staff were super helpful, firstly responded to messages prior to arrival instantly, and booked a taxi for us when leaving. A Room: Very spacious, nice bathroom. Bed was not the most comfortable but was fine. Area: Right in the heart of Florence was great for walking out and being in the city instantly, great restaurants nearby and a supermarket which was handy. But the street noise was very loud, luckily we are both fairly heavy sleepers so did fine but I would recommend earplugs at least.

Check in was a puzzle!! I felt safe afterwards because there were so many steps, phone call, text, locks and keys. You will be safe during a riot or zombie apocalypse. No one can get in. There is no staff. There is no services. It would be considered a luxury if there was staff and services. It would be luxury if there was at least a mini fridge to put beverages or small food items for our 6 day stay. Our room, The Botticelli, has windows to the street. Out side, on either side of the entrance, are restaurants, as well as one across the street. Several nights there were large groups very loud well past 10. Twice till midnight and 2 am. We ate a both restaurants and they were fantastic. We loved this location. It was walk-able to sites, shopping, food, transportation and all we wanted to see and do. Bed was comfortable. Pillows were terribly uncomfortable. I used a folded blanket as an extra pillow. Room was very large with a table and 2 chairs. There was a coffee maker we never used as we were up and gone by 6 am every morning or we went out for breakfast. There is a safe. There were extra blankets/comforters. We noticed after the 2nd or 3rd night there are cracks in the ceiling over the bed and we could see a metal? lens? reflection between the cracks. We did not get intimate because we felt we potentially were being filmed. You all might want to look into sealing the cracks.

Shame on Expedia for having it on the list. We arrived to a dirty place, dirty sheets, doors to the building left open because of the smell. Residents told us it’s a frequent complaint. It’s mostly apartments with exchange students and one small hallway in the building that was the “hotel”. Office closes at 6:00. We arrived at 5:45 but was told no staff to clean or bring blankets(none were provided). We left after taking pictures. Hoping Expedia lives up to their guarantees. We couldn’t stay.
