It’s close to the Yosemite entry gate . It’s pricey for what the room was like .I understand it’s all about availability and location so they charge for it . Bathroom smelled ; shower fixture was about to fall off but it worked and the water pressure itself was good as was the hot water . I would stay here again .

Sitting on the balcony, looking out at redwoods and oaks, a little stream bubbling below...nothing like it! And, even better, the moan of a steam engine whistle in the distance...This place is an oasis from the crazy world!

We stayed here to be close to rhe sugar pine railroad. My husband kept asking me to stay somewhere else that's about ten minutes away, but I was so adamant, because narrow gauge inn is only five minutes away, driving. It definitely feels like you're walking into a museum that hasn't been renovated or upkept very well. As much as I appreciate all the history that surround this inn, it did fill quite ran down. Nothing I would fret about if your whole purpose is to be close to the railroad only for 1 night, or you're trying to just hike for a day or something. But if you're spending a few days, you might want to consider staying somewhere else. There is a restaurant that will serve lunch and dinner, but no breakfast, so keep that in mind. Stuff is nice, no complaints there.

I love that it was literally nestled in the woods. Staff live on grounds and never amswer phone, email, or arent in the office. They stuck us in a dirty, uncleaned room upon arrival. They werent available for calls or questions while there. They didnt change the bedding upon request. Room was overpriced for sure. The Tenaya Lodge next door was same price (later found out) amd a complete resort

If you are looking for mountain inn charm this is it. The staff is wonderful let us check in early. The views from everywhere beautiful. Enjoyed our balcony everyday for coffee and evening cocktails. Coffee supplies perfect and you can always grab a few pods from the office. The restaurant was open the last night of our stay it was very good the butternut squash soup was pretty and tasted even better and our steak was fantastic
