we had a short- one night stay at the hotel. the pool was pretty small and poorly maintained and it closed at 19:30 which id very early. food quality at the restaurant for dinner wasn't very good.

Well worth a stay...

We stayed here 7 years ago...took a while to return didn't dissapoint. Had a lovely 2 night stay. Ate in Restaurant evening meal very nice good portions. Breakfast fantastic. Lovely friendly staff.

service in the dining room at breakfast and at dinner was excellent and food was very good. This applies to the do I attended in the small function room. Parking is very limited. Bar was not serving speciality coffees nor did it have any port. Not enough bar staff to cope with large pre-dinner group.

Great location

Lovely hotel, right next to the canal. If you’re lucky, at breakfast you can see a few ducks and swans swimming by! Perfect location for Cheshire Oaks, Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium. We even headed up to Liverpool for the day. If you have children, ask about VIK at reception; children can have a free item from the bar each day, no purchase necessary!

great property, easy location for getting out and about. 20 mins from Chester and shopping outlets, easy access to liverpool and Chester Zoo. They had great staff and great food (you've got to try the fish and chips). Parking was a challenge as the hotel is set between the canal locks, but the view was pretty and we fed the swans daily. We even saw the canal barges being worked.
