Easy to check in, staff were welcoming, friendly and super-helpful; resetting the air conditioning to heat the room and recommending closest parking in Durham centre for the restuarant I was going to. Room was in good condition, water pressure was fine. Car park was large and next to a service station, a Costa and a McDonalds. The hotel was part of services for the A1(M) road, so it was quick and easy to continue our journey in the morning. It was a short drive into Durham for sight-seeing.

This place as been revamped to a high standard. The rooms are very nice with top quality fixtures and fittings. We both slept really well and there was no noise to wake us even though we were close by the motorway. Plenty of free parking and charging our electric car overnight was only £15 for a full charge from empty. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was help-yourself continental for under £9 and there was a reasonable choice of good quality things on offer. Would definitely choose this well placed hotel again and recommend this competitively priced chain again
