It’s in the quiet outskirts of Dresden. There’s not much around the immediate vicinity, but there’s a bus stop right at the corner that will get you to city center quickly. I was in town to attend several concerts, and the bathtub was lovely to soak in after being on my feet all day.

Good hotel in a good location

An excellent location next to the bus stop for the 62 to town. A nice room, quiet with excellent staff who were very helpful with tickets, maps etc. An excellent breakfast and a very nice dinner, good value

Family room was great. Good size for a family of 4. The hotel is a nice walk into old town or there are bus/light rail options nearby. Bar and restaurant inside is nice as well.

Convenient hotel for visiting the city

Well placed hotel with a small underground parking garage (also free parking in the street outside). Bus stop just around the corner on a frequent service into the old city area that took less than 15 minutes. Baker nearby to have breakfast if you don't fancy paying hotel buffet breakfast prices.

DOG-UNFRIENDLY & PARKING-UNFRIENDLY

DOG-UNFRIENDLY: 12 Euro extra fee for our small dog, but our dog was not even welcomed to their restaurant. We have visited many hotels with our dog, we always felt like our dog was welcomed there. Some of the hotels didn't charge any extra fee, some of them even providing extra services, such as providing dog blanket, water-bowl, poop-bags, or reserving table at quiet corner of the restaurant........ This Holiday Inn, however, they just charged us the most, but they did not seem to be really dog-friendly. It is OK if hotels do not welcome dogs (we do understand it), just don't pretend they are dog-friendly when they are not. When I was searching for hotels online, I was looking for hotels which were dog-friendly. If I had known that this Holiday Inn was so dog-unfriendly, I would not choose it. PARKING-UNFRIENDLY: Parking is not free for hotel guests (12 Euro extra per day). The underground parking is so tiny and tricky.

Great steaks and burgers. Bar staff friendly and attentive. Was there for 7 days and it was a good hotel experience. Good restaurants nearby. It is about a 30 minute walk into the centre of Dresden which you need to see.

The room is basically next to the bus stop on the ground floor. So I have to keep the blind completely shut all the time, there could be literally 5-6 people standing a few feet from where I sleep. Also, the light bulbs don't work. I managed to shuffle them so that at least I get some light in the room. I didn't care enough to tell the front desk. Also, I feel the staff do not feel like I am very welcome -- I smile and say Hi more often then they would do the same. Other than that, the experience is OK./ fair. I had a very good time in Dresden.
