We stayed at Sunny Ocean Hotel & Spa in a connecting room with our 3 kids and had a really lovely experience. The cleaning staff were excellent – our rooms were always spotless and well taken care of. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming. A special mention to Mateo, who stood out with his kindness and made the best omelettes – a real highlight of our mornings! The location is also fantastic – just a 4-minute walk to the beach, with lots of shops, restaurants, and supermarkets nearby, making it very convenient for families. The only small downside was the lack of a cozy lounge area with comfortable chairs and coffee, which would have been nice for relaxing in the evenings. Overall, a great spot for families, and we would definitely recommend it!

Great breakfast, comfortable bed, convenient with plenty in walking distance. My “upgrade” though was to a room that had construction and jackhammering literally outside my room’s window at 7am. Also the rooms are not soundproof as described. Otherwise good stay, especially for the price.

The reason I chose this hotel is because the description on Expedia VERY FALSELY claims that it is located within a “nature preserve”. This is a poor and inaccurate translation and totally untrue. The room is also not “soundproof”. It is in a loud city area with street noise audible on the 10th floor at all hours of the day. The hotel staff was the least hospitable of any place we stayed in Vietnam. The bathroom light fixture was filthy with dust and there was tape left behind on surfaces around the room (from a previous guests decorations?). We upgraded to a room with a bathtub, but the water was only cold or barely warm and unable to reach a temperature suitable to take a bath. There was a water pressure (or worse) issue with the toilet, but it was able to flush with concerning effort most of the time. The staff at this hotel never once asked how our stay was until we were checking out. Desk staff never made eye contact or checked in when we were in the lobby coming and going. No help with the bags. Unlike other hotels with staff that ask “may we clean the room now?” this staff asked “you don’t need the room cleaned, right?” and that captures the vibe here well. The high room price is for the location and the view. The beds are comfortable compared to most in Vietnam, but when we we asked for extra pillows, we were told only one additional pillow could be spared. The breakfast buffet is okay but not noteworthy; same with the pool. The sky bar was not staffed at all.

The hotel is very close to the sea front/beach and lots of food outlets and shops. This does however mean that it is very busy and noisy until late. The rooms are extremely hot, when we arrived the room had not been cooled or curtains drawn which was very unpleasant considering the outside temperature was about 34 degrees. The staff are friendly and helpful! The hotel offers a car service for trips to local landmarks etc like Hoi an. However, beware the driver will try to upsell you trips to the coconut boats and/or "his sister's tailor shop" and then charge you for it which we did not like. Breakfast was varied every day and had a good selection. The pool area was a little disappointing compared to the online photos and the sky bar has no air conditioning. The gym is entirely pointless i.e. there are no weights on the weight machine so you're left with a treadmill but with no Aircon it's very difficult to use. Overall this hotel is pretty average.
