To serve you better, we now have fiber high speed internet. SPRING IN THE MOUNTAINS in your cozy cottage with several outdoor activities. Offering a shared deck, fire pit, grill and jacuzzi. Renegade mountain was a historic ski lodge. This season brings flowers and new greenery, trees against gorgeous sunrises and sunsets with distant mountain ranges.and Mountain Views . Our nights may reach the fourties’, great weather for cuddling up in front of the roaring fireplace. We may even have a light dusting of snow. As you travel up the mountain, you may see our new fawns and baby turkeys and other fauna and flora. Our location offers tons of hiking trails, winery, golfing, waterfalls, caves, and lakes nearby. There are plenty of trails for ATV’s and hiking on the over 10,000 acres at the adjacent Cumberland Trails state park. We have several parks & waterfalls in the area. We have “ozone falls” photographed for you, only five miles from the cabin. All of this is accessible from our driveway. We strongly recommend bringing a GPS! Come and enjoy!

The humming birds are beginning to return from Mexico. Our back deck is a feeding station. Hence our name “humming bird hideaway “Soak in the jacuzzi while watching them.

Nearby Crossville has old time heritage dating back to the early 1900’s. Enjoy our coffee shops and a variety of restaurants. Crossville even has a museum for the history buffs. We have antique car shows. We close down Main Street for this popular event held on the fourth Saturday of each month, 1-5pm. By the way, Tennessee has some great antique cars! Also known as the “Golf Capital” of Tennessee with many courses to choose from. Visit Bear Trace golf course, Ozone falls, Lake Tansi, Watts Bar Lake, we are 12 miles from Fairfield Glade.

The Cumberland county playhouse offers some delightful entertainment. I have enjoyed three plays just this season. They are truly a delight! It’s a short drive. Check out the season at

It’s a bit cooler up here at 2700 feet and yes some days we are in the clouds. Relax in our jacuzzi, barbecue, or enjoy a bonfire. Get away from the heat. We suggest you book now to reserve your spot on the beautiful mountain. Bring a jacket, we are nice and cool up here great for sitting by the fire pit & stars. Thank you.

Upon arrival (9:30pm), it was unclear we were at the right place due to an attached A-frame home just feet from the guest house (Not pictured or in listing description). Shortly after, an older woman arrived and informed us she lives on the property—something not disclosed in the listing. This is not a private stay. The guest house is directly next to their home, with shared proximity including a hot tub in full view of their floor-to-ceiling windows. If you’re expecting privacy, this is not the place for you. The listing was misleading, and getting a full refund has been a hassle due to this lack of transparency. We’ve spent allot of time trying to get the refund issue resolved but it has been refunded after multiple phone calls and messages with VRBO.

Great stay, clean and cozy. The hot tub was ready to go,so we didn't need to start it up. It is in the middle of nowhere away from traffic so it is a great experience if you want to get away from the noise and relax.

Lovely guest house! Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. We enjoyed making friends with the outdoor kitty, watching a movie on the large screen TV, and relaxing in the hot tub outside. Beautiful home and land. The bed and sheets were very comfy and I appreciated the extra towels and games. Would recommend!

Peaceful and Relaxing

Beautiful property, loved the hot tub and the hummingbirds to watch while your soaking under the sky! Carol was a kind and sweet host. Could only watch YouTube on the tv. Would not let us watch any streaming services like netflix, hulu and even tubi. Not sure if there was a limit on the WIFI. So we watched movies on our tablet. The property is in a beautiful area for hikes, mountains and waterfalls!

Weekend getaway w/hubby

GREAT experience - booking, finding the unit, all was exactly as described, hostess was WONDERFUL!! This is an excellent rental with beautiful surroundings and terrific hot tub & amenities! Wedding in the Smokies

My husband and I decided to elope to the Smokey mountains. The Hummingbird Hideaway was a perfect place for us. Carol was amazing. We told her in advance that we were eloping. She was very accomadating and even went out of her way to pivk up our bouquet and boutinier in crossville, hang a congratulations banner, and get us a sweet card. If we come back, we wod love to stay here again in the future. Thank you Carol.

Peaceful Retreat

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hummingbird Hideaway. The apartment is beautifully decorated, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom spacious and the kitchenette perfect for light cooking. One of our favorite features was the gas fireplace which kept us warm and toasty! While the owner's house is semi attached, it felt private. We love coming to the Cumberland Playhouse and this was a convenient location. We would happily stay here again!

Wonderful get away

We enjoyed our stay in the mountains of TN. The description online is spot on, it's a beautiful and unique opportunity found settled among the trees and nature. I would describe it as a top-shelf efficiency tiny home. Everything you need is there, it's cozy and beautifully maintained. You are settled next to Ms Carol, the gracious owner who insists on your privacy. I would however recommend, chatting with Ms Carol, she's delightful :) A wonderful stay, and we hope to return someday.

Place was amazing overall. Down fall the HOST is literally on same property connected to the "guesthouse" and in town. They did not bother us but we were not comfortable being there with the owners. The pictures and listing were very misleading. The front door was glass and could be seen through.The hot tub is in front of their big bay windows. All outside seating is in front or behind their home. None is on the vrbo side.

Our stay was pleasurable, however, the property should be advertised as a guest house. We had our privacy, but would probably not stay again or recommend because of the larger, attached house. Carol was a wonderful host for anyone that would enjoy that kind of accommodation.
