"My 7 year-old daughter and I came to stay for a Mommy-Daughter weekend a few weeks ago. She had a BLAST at this hotel- she loved the wave pool, the breakfast, the movie night at the pool, the DJ and snow cones. I even loved the bar area. They really had families in mind when they created the set up here. It was steps from the beach, we got a Ron Jon coupon to use at the Surf Shop, which was right next door. It really was perfect for our stay. That being said, we were originally placed in a room that was on the edge of the property (that wasn't the issue), where people were smoking right by our window, which of course faces the parking lot. The room was outdated and not very clean. The door handle had to be closed a certain way to properly lock. My daughter and I went right back up to that front desk and voiced our concerns. The woman at the front desk who has worked there for years stated, "I sent the maintenance man by." I informed her he didn't fix the lock, only told us to hold it a certain way. She seemed annoyed that we were not comfortable in a room that doesn't properly lock, on the edge of the property with smokers outside of the window. I was adamant, and she agreed to give us another room by the pool, which my daughter loved. They have signs encouraging guests to voice any concerns about their rooms- they should really mean that. Other than that, between the wave pool and the beach, my daughter and I had a blast, which was what truly mattered to us!"
