Squirrel Haven Cottage on Lake Norman

Squirrel Haven Cottage is a peaceful 1-bedroom guest house next to our home on Lake Norman. Nestled privately amidst trees with a beautiful lawn leading down to the lake. With access to a private pier and floating dock, this is a perfect place for a quiet lakefront getaway.

Cottage has a combined living room and kitchen. Door from living space opens to a lovely bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, closet, night stands, and dresser.
Ensuite bathroom includes bathtub/shower, sink and linen closet.
In addition, high speed internet, smart TV, washer/dryer combo are also all available.

In addition to the cottage, guests are invited to enjoy the lake front including swimming and fishing from private pier and floating dock. Rented boats or jet skis can be tied off at the dock as well.
The cottage is air-conditioned and features a separate bedroom. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a microwave, and an oven.

The Squirrel Haven Cottage was an absolute delight for our needs! We were on a return trip from Georgia, and Lake Norman was conveniently located halfway between us. When I booked this cottage, I completely overlooked the fact that it was only suitable for two people. My mistake, as the listing clearly states. Fortunately, we managed to fit a queen air mattress in the living room, which was a great solution for our kids. Scott, the host, was incredibly accommodating and didn’t mind that we had our kids with us. This is a rare occurrence, as other hosts might charge extra for accommodating additional guests. The only minor complaint I had was that we didn’t realize the cottage was right next to the hosts’ lake house. However, this was the only issue I could find, as the cottage was well-stocked with dishes, spices, coffee filters, and other essentials.

Very clean and fully equipped little cottage. Actually a mother-in-law suite adjacent to the primary residence. Very close parking just outside and a ramp if you need easy access. The cottage does not have a direct lake view however the property is on the water and we walked out to the dock. I even did a little casting to see if the Lake Norman fish had come out of their winter slumber.. but not quite yet.

Excellent couples vacation

The cottage was perfect for our vacation. The pier was nice to seat out on and have a day or lay out and get some sun. It was quiet and cozy. I would recommend it to anyone. The house had pretty everything you needed.I would recommend Two trees tavern not that far from the cottage for good food and very friendly people!

From out of state for a wedding weekend

Despite the heat and humidity, husband caught a few catfish, a bass, and some bluegills off the floating dock. The little home was perfect. Clean and tidy. A most comfy bed. Scott was helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.
