Your cozy cabin retreat awaits in Celina, Ohio. Our lake side home is perfect for romantic getaways, small families or friends that really like each other! This 2-bedroom home features a queen bed, twin bed, and a full bed, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests. With amenities including an equipped kitchen, AC, heat, Wi-Fi, and a washer/dryer, your stay will be stress-free. Relax in this quaint, 104-year-old lake side cabin after a day of exploring the area or fishing. You're sure to make fantastic memories with a stay here at Al's Place!

As fall brings with it, cooler temperatures, please know that we pulled the dock at the end of September to avoid bitter cold-water temperatures. You can still fish off the rocks on shore, but winter prohibits us from having the dock in the water year-round.

We have been adding updates and special touches over the last year of owning Al's Place and are continuing to improve this charming, little, old home with a unique floor plan right on the lake. Guests love it and we hope you have a wonderful getaway in our lakeside town during your stay with us, too.

Please understand that this property is on the lake which means applicable wildlife live in the area, including mayfly, spiders, stink bugs, mosquitos and lady bugs. We do use ecofriendly deterrents, but they do take advantage of open doors and enter anyways. We do not provide refunds for bugs unless a professional pest control exterminator determines there to be an inside infestation. We try to understand that our local birdlife needs these critters for their survival.

Fresh air is the best air, and we do our best for all our guests. This is a smoke/vape free property, both inside and outside. We ask that you to take a walk off the property to public property when you participate in this activity. Additional cleaning fees will be imposed on you when additional efforts are necessary to prepare for next guest due to smoking of any kind, including vaping, e-cigarettes.

The cabin felt very welcoming with a few lights on when we arrived. Loved the view. Enjoyed watching the lake from the inside when it was windy and cold outside. Watched the moon light and sun light dance on the water. We caught 3 yellow perch, 3 bluegills, 3 cat fish, 1 carp. There was a group of pelicans and more water fowl. Great place to unwind! Wished I could go back. Thank you.

Super cute cottage experience. Very cozy, clean and comfortable rooms. Love the cottage feel and design. Morning coffee with lake views was peak relaxation. Fishing off the pier was a nice extra. Came for my husband’s birthday. He was able to catch a few fish, which was the goal. We very much enjoyed the peace of the water and a nightly fire, which we can’t do at our home. The lake is so large, we felt like we were at the ocean. Pelicans in Ohio!?!?! They were fun to see. Also had a few bald eagle sightings. I let the typewriter get some fresh air and spent some time in writer’s retreat. The cabin was perfect. The host couldn’t have made the experience any better—it was a delightful time! Thank you!

Everything was great, we were at Eldora Speedway most of the time but the cabin was clean and cozy! For us it was way better than staying in a motel room like we did the previous year. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay. We will most likely be back next year.

We were looking for a relaxing getaway and this place was perfect! The house was small and cozy but you didn’t feel cramped. Despite the very few “quirks” of a 104 year old house, it was wonderfully updated and comfortable, as well as, nicely decorated and very clean. Bren had the house stocked with everything you would need to keep occupied including books, games, puzzles, etc. The back deck/dock was absolutely perfect and the views were amazing! The weather was perfect for our stay so the house was comfortable the entire time. Bren was an attentive host and left us cookies upon our arrival as well as coffee and creamer for us to enjoy. She even left a “cookie” for our dachshund, Roxie. We will definitely return

Absolutely perfect for my wife and I. We wanted a waterfront spot to be able to relax and reset from our busy life. We were able to do just that. We sat on the back deck next to the fire pit for HOURS just enjoying the view together.The house was an older house but very much clean and tidy. The house was very stocked for many things in the kitchen to use for cooking, this was a plus for us as we decided to cook there and eat with our own waterfront dining.We very much enjoyed our stay and will most definitely be returning. Bren was a great host and was very much available for any and all questions! We honestly didn’t know just how good this place was going to be until we got there. Love love loved it!

Having breakfast and coffee on the deck was heavenly! This is a very compact lake cottage. Every thing was clean and beautifully done. I don't think that I have ever stayed in a rental that was as well supplied and nicely furnished as this one. The kitchen and bathroom had everything you would need and a few surprise gifts like cookies, popcicles, and coffee. The outdoor experience was just to our liking and the lake was lovely. Highly recommend.
