Lovely guesthouse

This hotel was great. The only thing missing for us was a bit more hospitality. Everyone was very kind, but we often wondered if anyone else was actually around or in the house. Additionally, the WiFi is very spotty- only an issue if you need to do any work or hop on the internet for some reason. Overall a very nice, clean, well-located guest house.

Nice Hotel, but Remote with Difficult Access

Nice and stylish hotel, but the location is removed from anything but the beach requiring a drive to get to Simon’s Town. Access to the hotel is somewhat difficult since the only access is via the very steep driveway (i.e. no pedestrian path). Parking is limited and tight. The hotel has a fantastic view of the ocean/beach from the front veranda. The staff are very nice and accommodating. The WiFi is absolutely the worst. It is weak and keeps logging out. The beds are nice, but the pillows are very firm. I assume that they could have been switched out, but I only realized this late at night and didn’t want to wander around looking for staff to address the issue. The breakfast was fantastic.

The hotel itself was beautiful, staff was also extremely helpful and welcoming. We even saw whales one morning while eating breakfast. I only really have two complaints- noise travels very easily so once any guest is up you hear them. Made it kind of tough after long travels. The other thing, they serve breakfast but that's it(this may have been our error as well) but it's difficult to get a ride around that area and there's not really anything to do except boulders beach. After that, unless you have your own transport- you're just kind of stuck at the hotel- hungry. But again, if we would of had our own car this would have been different.

Relaxing Stay

I look forward to staying here on my next visit. A great place to stay if your exploring Cape of Good Hope. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and exquisitely presented. They have thought if everything....as I didn't bring a beach towel. An umbrella and beach towel are provided for guest. I could go and on with compliments about Whale Manor and the staff. Lastly, the spa presentation, services and staff are absolutely superb. I received a facial and massage...a treat to a perfect stay.

Boutique hotel in a perfect location

A perfect little B&B, very design, with breath-taking views of the bay. Very friendly and attentive staff, delicious food (you need to book dinner in advance) and a courtesy bar 24/7. A bonus: you can walk for 10 minutes and see the pinguins without the crowds. Well worth it! Same goes for visiting the Cape ahead of the crowds (its entrance is within a quarter of an hour of a scenic drive). Ask for Steven as your guide for a perfect tour of the park.

Perfect stop after Cape of Good Hope

We drove down from the Cape Town Airport to the Cape of Good Hope, and spent the night on the way back at this hotel. The staff was amazing! Roy was a gem with the bags as well as letting us have breakfast at 7am so we could catch our tram to Table Mountain. Breakfast by the way was excellent and fresh, with fantastic presentation.

Awesome view and excellent service

We had a room with sea view. The view is gorgeous and the staff are very helpful and willing to help you at any time. The hotel is located at a 5 minutes car ride to the center of the town and 2 minutes to the Penguin park. You will need to get a car to get around. The food and service were excellent.

Comfortable hotel with beautiful scenery

Whale View Manor Guesthouse is a great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet getaway in Simon's Town. Sweeping views of the ocean are visible from the hotel balcony, and can be fully enjoyed while nibbling on breakfast each morning. The hotel is also a short walk from Boulders Beach, and reaching the nearby penguin colony doesn't take long by foot.

Relaxing Perfection

This property is perfectly located just steps from the ocean and beautifully decorated throughout, giving you a very special place to relax and close to the activities of Hermanus. The best part however is not just the tranquility that comes over you from the physical environment but the grace and professionalism extended by its staff. The attention to detail is incredible. Every need of ours was anticipated and taken care of and always with a smile. Dinner reservations were made, tours were booked, maps and directions were supplied; we never had to fret over the small stuff, so we were just able to focus on relaxing! So many amenities enhanced our stay, I can't begin to list all of them. We were welcomed with a split of champagne, one cool evening the floor heating system in our bedroom was turned on...that was great! Each night at turn down service the next day's detailed weather forecast was beautifully presented on the bed. Every morning a hot gourmet breakfast was served. We never left hungry! Hermanus is an incredible area to explore and 138 Marine Guest House was the perfect place to stay.
