Bookclub Girls Trip

We had a group of 8 women celebrating 25 years of friendship together being in the same bookclub. The Mainely Away house was beautiful and Paul was a very gracious host. We had two people sleep in each room, and it was very nice to have 3 bathrooms. We had a wonderful vacation and spent time in Ogunquit and York- which was an easy 10 minute drive. We flew into Boston and it was an hour and 40 minute drive to the VRBO. I highly recommend staying in this VRBO.

Perfect place to enjoy Maine

The house is not beachfront but enjoys an amazing rooftop patio from which we see the ocean. You do not pay beachfront price, but still enjoy the ocean. The house is really nice, clean, with many large rooms with their own AC. The mattresses are incredibly comfortable. The owner, Paul, was incredible from the arrival to the departure, always helpful and available. We strongly recommend.

Fabulous rental house

Paul was an attentive and excellent host. He also left us a number of delicious local treats to enjoy while we were there. The home is lovely, beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and has truly everything you need for a wonderful vacation experience. The neighborhood is great and the views of the cove are spectacular! One of our favorite daily activities was to walk 2 minutes down our road to sit on the scenic rock beach. We would love to stay at Paul's home again!

A perfect vacation

This home exceeded all expectations for our family of 8. Our host, Paul, met us on arrival and showed us everything we needed to know about his lovely vacation home. He supplied us with a generous amount of local goodies on our arrival which we appreciated. The house was very comfortable and very nicely decorated with a Maine beach feel. Loved the kitchen which was fully stocked as were the bathrooms with all the amenities. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were great. The water view from the living area was everyone’s favorite but we spent many hours on the rooftop patio enjoying the quiet setting, the sunrise and evening views of the local Maine coast. I highly recommend this wonderful house! And thanks Paul for being there and available when we had questions. We would definitely stay again!

Over the top quality

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Brian was a gracious host. The quality of the amenities in the house were great. The soaps, shampoo, towels, kitchen utensils, table settings were terrific. My favorite room was the rooftop deck overlooking the ocean.

Exceeded our expectations!

This property was one of the best we have ever rented. Paul and his wife have thought of every little detail to make this rental amazing. Paul greeted us and showed us around the house. Everything is labeled, which was very helpful. The house was spotless and furnished beautifully. There are so many different locations in the house to sit and relax. Only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer. The location is also perfect secluded and quiet yet close to everything. Beds are all comfortable with very nice linens. You won’t go wrong staying here we can’t wait to go back. Thank you again.

Paul's place in Cape Neddick

We had an amazing Memorial Day weekend at Paul's place in Cape Neddick, Maine. Paul was a fantastic host and greeted us on our arrival with a very nice gift basket. We have rented many VRBO houses and this was by far the cleanest and best decorated. The house is in a very quiet upscale residential neighborhood with a nice yard. The place is one house removed from the Atlantic ocean and has great ocean views from the first floor living area. Downstairs has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a TV/play which was an ideal space for my daughter, son in law and 2 young grandchildren. The first floor has a bedroom and en suite bathroom which was very comfortable for us. The first floor kitchen and open area is very comfortable for lounging and meals. The kitchen is well stocked with very nice cook ware and appliances. AC is more than adequate throughout. The sun room is cooled by ocean breezes and impressive windows. We really enjoyed the ocean views and relaxing patio furniture on the roof deck. We spent all of our beach time at the Cape Neddick beach which is only a couple of minutes drive and very safe for the young kids. The York beach town area is just a very short drive from Paul's place. We look forward to a return stay at Paul's place in Cape Neddick.

Excellent house, location, and host!

Paul greeted us whem we arrived and explained all the wonderful amenities. He also gave us a generous welcome basket with a bunch of goodies. We enjoyed the lovely Rooftop Terrace and we're fortunate enough to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights. The ocean is visible from several windows as well as from the rooftop Terrace. The home is immaculate with attention to the needs of the guests. I definitely would recommend this to everyone and we will look forward to going back. He was a most gracious host. Thank you!

A week of Bliss

We can not say enough about Paul and Janet’s home. We have rented homes on VRBO for years. Never have we had a home so taken care of and furnished with everything we needed Janet met us on arrival and showed us everything we needed to know. A lovely gift basket was left for us which we enjoyed over the week Paul communicated with us during our stay to make sure everything was ok We wish all rentals could be so lovely Thank you Paul and Janet for a lovely week I must say the master bed had the most amazing mattress and I slept the best I’ve slept in a long time

Exceptional Property

Mainlyaway is an exceptional property with an outstanding owner. Great spot for a shore escape

This property is a first-rate spot for a Maine shore getaway. The location is excellent, near beaches and the towns of Ogunquit and York, but also on a quiet street with little to distract from the sound of the ocean. The property is spacious with ample living space in addition to the 4 bedrooms. The host was fantastic, and explained the features of the house and how to use them. And he offered both welcome snacks and great tips for local sites. I would definitely stay at this house again!

Absolutely Amazing

First of all let me tell you about our host, Paul. Not only did he communicate well before check in, but the day we checked in he stayed to welcome us to the house and walked us through all of the features, all of the rooms, and gave us a wonderful and entertaining overview of the neighborhood and surrounding areas. His attention to detail could be seen from the first impression as we pulled into the drive way to each and every room in the house. We took him up on multiple suggestions on places to go and where to eat and every one was a hit out of the park. This was by far the best experience we have had in our travels and are looking forward to returning again soon. As far as the house, let me say it was by far one of the cleanest, well maintained, and best stocked house we have been to. The rooms were amazingly decorated and the rooftop deck was fantastic. We enjoyed multiple sunrises and some of the best star viewing ever. In addition to the rolling waves and short walks to the coast this is an absolute premier location to all that Maine has to offer. Way to go Paul and Mainley Away!

Perfect Vacation

We LOVED our stay at Mainely away. The house was more beautiful in person than the photos showed. There were six of us staying (3 couples) and we all had our own rooms and own bathrooms. There are four bedrooms, but we chose three bedrooms that maximized the privacy for each couple. The neighborhood was so quiet and the sound proofing of the house was perfect. There were no outside sounds and I slept the best that I have in years ! Hands down, the best feature of the house is the rooftop deck. We spent daytime and nighttime hours up there. It was always so serene and quiet. There was no light pollution so we saw the stars very clearly. We were also able to see an amazing moonrise on our last night. It was spectacular. The house is situated between Portsmouth/Kittery and Portland. We explored all of these cities as well as coastal towns. We loved, loved, loved our stay. You should definitely consider this house if you plan on staying in the area. It is a gem !

Enjoyed seeing the stars from the rooftop patio !

The property has beautiful views of the ocean, is immaculate and well maintained. We were welcomed with clear instructions about our stay and a beautiful basket of snacks and drinks to refresh us after long travel! We enjoyed playing games at the long table, the outdoor shower after a day at the beach, and nights staring up at the stars on the rooftop patio. It was a very peaceful week . Sad to leave but hope to come back again soon to the beautiful coast of Maine.

Beautiful home in quiet neighborhood

We really enjoyed our week at this home. This home was definitely one of the most favorite rentals that we have stayed in. The owner was friendly and helpful in making us feel welcome. We loved sitting on the roof deck enjoying the ocean view and walking to the small rocky beach. The rooms were decorated beautifully and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location was perfect...just a short driving distance to all the southern Maine beach towns. We would definitely stay at this home again! It fit our family of six perfectly.

An Awesome Beach Vacation

This property is immaculate both inside and outside. It has three bedrooms downstairs, one master bath and one hall bath. The master bedroom is very large with several seating areas and the two other bedrooms fit one queen bed each comfortably. Each room has ample closet and drawer space. There is a cozy and comfortable TV room with games downstairs where we set up our grandsons crib. It was perfect! Upstairs is a bedroom off the kitchen with its own bath. The kitchen was well stocked and thanks to Paul he bought a new mixer for us when we inquired if there was one in the house. All the kitchen items were in great shape, all the kitchen drawers were very clean. The living room was cozy for all 7 of us. The dining room table is right off the living space which made it a nice conversational open space. The washing machine and dryer worked well. The location is fantastic. Quiet in an upscale beach neighborhood and close to both York and Ogunquit. We all thought the beds were comfortable and we all hope to come back next year! Paul was very communicative throughout the week and he bought me a beautiful Maine sweatshirt which fits me perfectly! This is by far the nicest rental I have booked in years.

Cape Neddick Oasis

Mainely Away was a beautiful home with so many nice touches from the owner. Upon arrival we were shown around the property and we’re welcomed with a goodie basket that the whole family enjoyed. The home was very comfortable and the rooftop, with the ocean view, was amazing. Lovely touches throughout the home included comfortable furniture and beds with toiletries in all the bathrooms. This house was so inviting and in such a nice area my family would not hesitate to vacation there again! So many great memories were made, one of the best houses we’ve stayed in!

Absolutely the Best

My family stayed at Mainely Away in late June 2022. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property, and especially the hosts! We were traveling in from all over to hold memorial services for both my Mom & older brother, and Paul was incredibly kind and generous to all of us. The home itself is gorgeous, pristine and extremely comfortable. The location is just lovely, with an expansive ocean view from both the rooftop deck and the main living area. Every detail was included, from slippers & bathrobes to emergency lighting, full kitchen supplies and even a delightful selection of specialty teas. A very thoughtful arrival gift basket of goodies and drinks awaited, and Paul even went out of his way to provide a delicious cake, specifically to commemorate my Mom. What an incredibly thoughtful & moving gesture! Without a doubt and despite the circumstances, our stay was the absolute best VRBO experience we've ever had. We now live in Florida, but the NH/ME seacoast is my home, and the area always tugs on my soul when I return. I'm already poring over our calendar and badgering my husband to start a more frequent rotation of visits home, and I will always seek out a stay at Mainely Away. Thank You Paul & Janet!

4th of July Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time at this property. The house was very clean and spacious. The was plenty of room for my family of seven to spend time together and spend quiet time on our own. We loved walking down to the pebbly beach and viewing the ocean from the rooftop deck. We were even able to see 4th of July fireworks! Paul was very easy to contact and answered any questions we had. Highly recommend!

Truly incredible house and host in Maine!

Wow!! What is there to say about Paul and his house other than that this is the most incredible place and Paul is the most fantastic host! Pictures and words cannot do it justice (although the pictures look very nice--it's even nicer than we imagined!). The house is beautiful, immaculate, incredibly well-kept and spacious, and very comfortable! The two decks are fantastic places to relax and enjoy the fantastic views of the water (or to stargaze!). And the whole house is full of windows to let in the delightful sea breeze. The house has everything you could possibly want (from a fully-stocked kitchen with clear labels on every single drawer and cabinet so you know where everything is to beach chairs and umbrellas to lawn games and bluetooth speakers). Oh and did I mention that the location is perfect? On a quiet street with a great view but just a few minutes from Ogunquit, Perkins Cove, York Beach, and more! And Paul is the most gracious and thoughtful host! He truly thought of everything--including a delicious birthday cake for me because we were celebrating my birthday!!! He was very accomodating to everything we needed. And he was incredibly communicative with tips and suggestions before and during our stay! We truly cannot say enough good things about Paul and his house! When we got home, our son said that he missed Maine and that really, he missed the house. We miss it too!
