No one at reception on arrival. When they did turn up and we said we were checking in, the first thing they asked for was a £50 deposit and confirmed we'd have to pay £20 for parking as booked through Expedia and not direct with hotel. They then told us our room number and brief directions to the location of our room and that was the end of the conversation. Having never visited this hotel and spa before we were told no other information about the facilities for our 2night stay.
The room did have a welcome manual in but the information in it was out of date with incorrect menu prices and need for locker tokens etc.
The room was nice and spacious. Downside in our twin room was one bed had a firm mattress and the other bed was so soft it squashed down and didn't give much support. The room had plenty of tea, coffee making facilities etc.
The food in the Celtic bar was good and the waiting staff attentive.
The Spa staff were excellent and actually asked us if we'd visited before and told plus Information accordingly.
The downside was the small sauna with flimsy tired boards and a jacuzzi that seemed to have an 'out of order' sign on it at least twice a day. We enjoyed the gym and pool.
Overall an ok spa break but there are small things that could be done to make it a lot better.
