This property was awesome!! It was well stocked with everything we could need for our weekend stay our friends and 3 boys ages 9-11. The boys had no much fun staying in the bunk room, fishing on the dock and kayaking in the lake! What a cozy family home! Thanks you!

Fall getaway perfection

This beautiful clean cottage on the lake was absolutely perfect. We've been fortunate enough to have stayed at many nice places in the past, and this place ranks right up with the best of them. From the time we pulled into the driveway it fealt like home. The entire weekend was excellent. Christie was so helpfull with booking, and just a pleasure to work with on a couple of the questions we had. I only wish we had more time to utilize everything the cottage has to offer. We will definitely be back. Thank you Christie for making our Fall getaway a reality.

Reminiscing Past Memories

The property is Fantastic!! Just like we expected and more! Was great to stay next to the home my parents had owned for over 21 years and where we had many many fun memories on the lake through the years with our children and family! From paddle boating, SUP boards, kayaks, campfires, sunbathing, snorkeling, playing games and visiting with old friends - great time! The place was well stocked with everything you needed, comfortable and well organized information provided. I could go on and on with all the positives! We will definitely be coming back!!! ❤️

Ski Trip

From the beginning everything with this trip went very well. I screwed up and booked under an old account causing Christie to have to work with VRBO to get it deleted. She was very quick replies. Upon arrival everything was as expected. They go over the top accommodating families. There were ton of games and even indoor and outdoor scavenger hunts. Huge win. We have 5 kids to entertain after skiing. Would definitely rent again. Happy Cabin for the WIN!!!

Cozy & Quiet

Our family definitely enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is nicely tucked into large pine trees, overlooking a clear, beautiful lake. The house has nice separation between sleeping quarters. There were plenty of beds, which were all comfortable. The primary family room has a great cozy, northern feel with great views of the lake. The proximity to town was great, far enough away to have peace and quiet but close enough to drive multiple times a day. The detail and amenities provided by the hosting family were top notch. Thanks!

Pictures don’t make any justice!

The listing pictures don’t make any justice in how cozy and well maintain the cabin is. We are a family of 10 adults and it was able to accommodate all and even we had extra beds. The lake beautiful cristal clear water and all the water toys gave us a wonderful family time. Fire pit and outdoor games as well. Very nice stay. I will come back to this cabin for sure.

Summer getaway spot!

Our family had an amazing stay at Happy Lakeside Cabin. The house was stocked with everything we would have at home and very clean. There were guides and suggestions on what to do in the area which came in handy on days we did want to go out. Our family all slept comfortably and didn't want for anything. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the weather, water and lake amenities. It was just wonderful and Christie the owner was very easy to reach and responded quickly to our questions. We couldn't have asked for better arrangements, we loved being away from the hustle and bustle. My family is already asking when we will be able to go back. Direct review from my 7-year-old after walking into the house and checking everything out "I love it here!"

Excellent property with an outstanding hostess

My family and I booked this property to take advantage of all that northern Michigan has to offer in the winter. We were able to get out and enjoy the snow on beautiful hiking trails as well as hit the local ski hill at Caberfae which is only 20 minutes away. It was great to have my daughter enjoying being out in nature and not on her phone. Christie goes above and beyond to make your stay as welcoming as possible. She has great suggestions for local activities in Cadillac as well as many things to do within the house including scavenger hunts that kids of all ages, adults included, can enjoy! Cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to returning in the future for all the seasons!

Family Thanksgiving Get Away

My family loved this quiet "up north" Michigan get away for the Thanksgiving weekend. The kids (age ranging from 8 to 13) loved the "clubhouse" (above the garage) where they could hang out away from the adults and watch movies and play video games. The adults loved the quaint location, beautiful view of the lake, and the ability to hike around the lake and through the nearby campground. The adults and kids enjoyed making a bonfire in the backyard, it wasn't too cold yet, and we were able to enjoy the sunset over the lake. The snow wasn't quite here yet, but we know this location is near Caberfae Ski Resort, and there are many options for sledding and snowmobiling trails accessible nearby. Downtown Cadillac has some cute restaurants and bars, and we were able to enjoy those as well. The house itself is very spacious, allowing plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 children! There is a room with 2 bunk beds for the kids which they loved. We didn't even have to use the pull out couches in the 2 family rooms, but know we know we can come with even more people if we want to. The house is immaculately clean and very cozy! There is a wood-burning stove that keeps the whole house nice and warm. This house does not leave you wanting for anything- it is fully stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies, as well as games and movies galore, and it does also have wi-fi. Winter, fall, spring or summer, this house and location provides great outdoor fun! We will definitely be back!
