Well situated for several walks and into the village of Brockenhurst the hotel is safe and comfortable. Stayed previously and had a much nicer room than this time so must ensure early booking, but felt it was ‘luck of the draw’ which is not what you want when booking a hotel room. Room looked nothing like the photos on the website for that category of room. Bed not very comfortable and wooden blinds were broken so couldn’t block out morning light. Toilet flush was also ‘dodgy’, but as I say am very aware that other rooms are much better.
Didn’t have breakfast in hotel as felt £16 each was steep ( and couldn’t fathom out why it was £18 each if you didn’t book the day before??) Plenty of alternative choices in the village. Tried to have an evening meal but again without booking you can’t even eat in the bar - find it annoying that preference not given to hotel guests and that you have to book in the bar area when there is an appointed restaurant?!
Explained all above to management on our departure and have to say they were very understanding and accommodating. Would probably return but would not have such high expectations next time.
