We arrived for check-in on a Friday night at 20 degrees outside and the house was freezing cold because no one had turned the heat up. Not very welcoming. Upon turning it up, we found out that the house does not have heating upstairs, where 4 of the 5 bedrooms are located. Two space heaters are provided, which had to be turned on at all times to keep the room at around 65-66 degrees (huge fire hazard) Two rooms remained unheated and guests had to return home because of it. Upon calling the management company, Vacasa, they say they can't help and suggest turning the downstairs heat all the way up, which made the lower floor uncomfortably hot, but did not help warming up the rooms upstairs. Then they suggest using a fan to "push air up", which does not help if doors are closed. Eventually they just said they "made a note" of the issue, but did not provide a fix and we were left with two unusable rooms and people cramped in the other two, barely-heated, rooms. Check-out time at 10am is abusive and unreasonable (and highly enforced, by the way) Overall, while the house itself is nice enough and the location is great, it was a very bad experience. We've had similar situations in properties managed by Vacasa, so we'll make sure to only rent owner-managed properties moving forward.
