New! The Sunkissed Beach House - Truly Spectacular Luxury Lakefront Home on Crystal Lake!
The Sunkissed Beach House is a truly spectacular luxury lakefront vacation home! It occupies 2 lots at the beautifully isolated and pristine Railroad Point section of Crystal Lake, with a sandbar extending well out into the lake from the huge private beach. Includes private lakeside bonfire ring, private lakefront, private dock, and an amazing primary bedroom with incredible lake views! Perfect for a very luxurious and memorable family or group getaway to northern Michigan! (MAX. 10 ADULTS!)
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:
We have a local property manager that lives in the area and is available to address any questions or concerns that may arise.
NEIGHBORHOOD:
The house is along the gorgeous south shore of Crystal Lake, which consists of many luxurious lakefront homes (including this one). The neighborhood is primarily made up of vacation homes of professional families. The home is very close to the famous (but quite remote) Railroad Point Nature Area on Crystal Lake, which has a beautiful nature trail going through it. The home is on Sunkissed Drive (hence the name), which is rather secluded and has very little traffic. The home sits on a portion of Crystal Lake that has a spectacular natural sandbar, so the water is quite clear, shallow, and refreshing for a considerable ways out into the lake.
Outside of the immediate neighborhood, the home is just a few miles from downtown Frankfort, which has a charming collection of shops, restaurants, cafes, a microbrewery (Stormcloud), and a vintage theater (The Garden Theater). Frankfort also has a fantastic public beach on Lake Michigan and a popular historic lighthouse. Downtown Beulah on Crystal Lake, with its own collection of charming shops, cafes, and restaurants, is only about a 6-minute drive from the home. The Sunkissed Beach House is also less than a 30-minute drive from both the start of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (to the north) as well as Crystal Mountain Resort (to the southeast).
Traverse City is also only about a 1-hour drive to the east from The Sunkissed Beach House. Traverse City is the business, arts, recreation, entertainment, dining, and shopping hub of all of Northern Michigan and it provides a vast variety of "bigger city" things to see and do.
GUEST ACCESS:
Guests have access to the entire property, except for the detached garage, an owners' closet, and a supply cabinet.
THE SPACE:
The home is modern and exquisitely decorated throughout! The pinnacle of the interior of the home is the incredible primary bedroom on the third floor with its own private balcony (with a gorgeous view of Crystal Lake), gas fireplace, desk, television, and private ensuite full bathroom. The layout of the home is great for families, extended families, or groups with children due to the 2 large bunk bedrooms on the lower level (with presumably one of the bunk bedrooms being for boys and one being for girls).
The home has both a forced-air furnace for heat as well as central air conditioning, so it is very comfortable any time of the year. Note that the property has some wonderful extra amenities including two gas fireplaces (one in the living room and one in the primary bedroom) as well as two washers and two dryers.
TRANSIT:
The Benzie Bus provides limited public transportation, but it is highly recommended that guests have their own means of transportation.

The home was perfect and communication with the property manager was easy. Highly recommend for multiple families. Great location by the boat ramp and close to town.
The outdoor spaces make this place truly perfect for a family vacation. We held our annually week-long family trip here with full capacity: 10 adults, 6 kids. There was so much for the kids to do outside all week long: boating, swimming, playing soccer, running around, digging in the sand and just relaxing on the porch. We would absolutely come back here - in fact, several people in our group suggested we make this our new go-to vacation rental.
Absolutely a beautiful and well maintained house! From the time we arrived, the grandkids were occupied for hours with the sandy beach. The bedding and towels were nice quality and the beds were comfortable for all. The kitchen was adequately equipped and not overstuffed with the odds and ends of the owners discards like you see in so many rentals. The only two drawbacks were:1.). The steps … Lots and lots of steps! It was manageable if everyone is in good shape but getting large suitcases and heavy stuff into the house was quite a chore.2.). Only two TV’s. When it rained for two straight days, we were all stuck watching children movies on the TV in the living room. The only other TV was in the master bedroom. It would be nice if one could’ve been placed down on the 1st level, but I wouldn’t call it a deal breaker. I also wish one of the basement bedrooms had a king bed. Two of the adults in our group had to sleep in the bunks and they did not enjoy that experience! But, it was an overall very pleasant place to stay.
The location was fabulous!!! Right on the water (across the bike path which posed no problem for young children to cross); kayaks were provided by the host, but given the number in our family we rented some more, along with some paddle boards, We also rented bikes -- and given the proximity to Frankfort where we rented the bikes we could bike back home along the beautiful bike path and then onto Beulah also within easy biking distance. The water was indeed crystal clear and the view across the lake stunning with the turquoise water becoming dark blue in the middle. Great day trips to the dunes and Lake Michigan as well. And the fire pit provided a wonderful s'mores end to the day. There were some problems with the house. The cleaners were not finished cleaning when we arrived at 4pm. There are indeed lots of stairs from the road where the cars park to the house. -- not a problem for the young but a bit of a challenge for the elderly. When we arrived the ice maker and water dispenser did not work, but the host arranged for a handyman to arrive who fixed that. The kitchen is small and the living area only seats six comfortably. Adjusting the heat/cooling was a challenge -- not too hot on the second floor and not too cold in the basement where the bunk beds are. On the other hand the beds were very comfortable -- and the teenagers in the group appreciated the curtains that provided privacy on four of the bunks. Despite some of the house's quirks we had a wonderful time.
