Nice hotel good location our room was a bit small and noisy on the Saturday night as we were right by the bar & courtyard . But they catered very well for us at our big family meal the organisation and service were excellent

Handy for Belper

Good location, easy to park. Nice big room but decor a bit dated. Couldn't turn down heating in room so had to open a window overnight. We didn't eat in the hotel apart from the complimentary continental breakfast which was adequate.

The food and staff were very good. We had a delicious dinner in the evening. It was a very busy and lively pub but not causing any noise issues as a lot of the rooms are at the back in the extended area. There was plenty of parking too. However, the bed was very uncomfortable. The mattresses were very worn out, with dips in the middle and you could feel the springs. I think i would have slept better on a plank of wood. It is good value for money though and Belper town is quite noise with plenty of independent bars and shops.

We love staying at the Lion, the staff are so lovely, the rooms are fab, breakfast is a brilliant continental with the option to upgrade to a hot breakfast, parking is onsite which is so convenient. We can’t wait to stay again.

Favourite hotel but....

We love this hotel. Friendly staff, great location, bar and restaurant excellent. The basic rooms are a bit small but the deluxe are really good. This time we stayed in the suite. The room never got very warm and the decor is tired. Please consider giving your main room a face-lift!
