This is a very ..unique... property. It's VERY isolated and felt more like a (very nice) summer camp than a hotel. Honestly, I felt a little scared being a solo woman on my own because it was isolated and no one was there when I arrived. It's clearly a beautiful space for a wedding reception, but a little odd for hotel. It's far from the highway and restaurants/towns which is fine as long as you expect that. The walls were EXTREMELY thin and I heard all conversations and had to put a noise machine on to try to drown out the guests up stairs that sounded like stomping elephants. Not the hotel's fault but I wouldn't recommend this for light sleepers. I didn't meet any staff as I guess they aren't really ever on site except breakfast. Sadly, I missed breakfast since I had to leave so early so can't comment on that. The jams looked great! Overall, just know what to expect. I wouldn't stay again but I clearly didn't understand what it would be like.

Excellent- Will definitely stay again

Very relaxing quiet stay. We had lots of privacy and our room was very spacious. We were upgraded to the “bridal suite” at no extra charge without having to ask. Staff is friendly and accommodating and made us feel comfortable and welcome at the resort. Nice area for free breakfast in the grand hall that is used for wedding receptions. I’m sure the grounds are even more beautiful in the summer/fall as foliage just starting to grow at this time. Outside patio/pool would be very inviting when warmer. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with eggs/bacon/french toast/pancakes all made to order. The fabulous Fresh baked Pumpkin muffins to start were a nice touch while waiting for breakfast. We loved the Raspberry Lavender jam ( homemade by Lucy) so much we bought some to take home along with Pickled Beets.All the preserves/chutneys etc are homemade with wonderful unique flavour combinations. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked a third night. We would recommend Timber House Resort and will stay there again when we visit the area.

This was such a hidden gem for us. I stayed here with a friend and my two small children while in town for a baby shower and the host was truly incredible. Our room was fantastic and so warm and inviting, there was nice low volume music playing in common areas which I loved, many bathrooms scattered throughout which was great, and also a super accommodating parking situation. To be honest though, the high point for us was the breakfast. I have stayed at MANY different hotels/Airbnb/timeshare etc and I've never had such an incredible breakfast just included in the stay. My son and I have dietary needs and they were so easily accommodated which is a very rare thing for him and I to experience. The pancake were the best pancakes I've ever had and I'm not exaggerating, we also picked up a few homemade jams to bring home with us! We are from 3.5 hours away, and I'd make the drive back to Brighton just to stay here for a weekend as a little getaway again. Thank you again!

We reached the property at 8.30pm. The road is dark, the yard is dark and inside only a couple of lights. There was no one at the property and no at the front desk just 2 papers to tell us they couldnt be there and here are the keys. Anyone could have entered and used those rooms as there was no one to monitor. On top of that there were no other guests at the property. We were 3 adults and 2 kids in this big guesthouse alone in the dark middle of nowhere. It is not a hotel. We immediately felt unsafe and scared being alone there, dark and no security. We tried to call them to get some assurance but no response. We took turn going in to check the rooms as we were scared. Our 5 old was traumatized from the place. We finally decided not to stay there as it really felt unsafe and dangerous. We would be able to close our eyes even second to rest if we did. Our rooms were on the ground floor. The front door very close to the rooms and it was open for anyone to enter at anytime they wanted and there was no one else on the property. If there were an emergency we wouldnt have anyone to contact as the host was not responsive. This is definitely not a 3 star hotel. It is simply a guest house style place with limited services. Dont be fooled to book that place. The pictures and what it actually looks like are very different at night. The place felt very unsafe and unsecure. It was the start scene of typical horror movie. Not recommended at all especially if you have children.

Truly amazing knowledgable hosts.

Timber house is situated close to the lake in a quiet natural setting. The hosts were truly exceptional starting with a delicious breakfast cooked to order. I loved the carrot muffins and french toast. My car broke down in the parking lot and the host was able to connect me with the help I needed. I highly recommend Timber House for a retreat close to quaint friendly towns and nice restaurants.

We were the only people there which was cool. But I would have thought that as a courtesy we would have been put into a nicer room, given that there were 10 of them. And some much nicer and brighter than the room we were given. Close to the beach to see a nice sunset. Lucy, the manager makes some very good jam and hot chocolate bombs which was a bonus to buy some homemade Christmas gifts. Good breakfast. I think this seems like a great place for holding group functions.

Hidden gem on Lake Ontario

Lovely accommodation tucked away in the woods on Lake Ontario near Presquile National Park. Very comfortable room lounge area and kitchen for guests' use. Delicious made to order breakfast and very nice host!

Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Staff is very friendly and breakfasts were great. Short stroll to the beach and convenient location to explore Prince Edward County. Highly recommend this resort.
