When visiting Ambleside and walking the Lake District, this is the place to stay. Dry comfortable rooms and amenities. The pub downstairs is stellar. Breakfast was delicious. The area is unbelievable and we had a great time wandering about.

Clean, well appointed room (albeit up 57 stairs but staff offered help with bag). Quiet and comfortable so slept well. Staff pleasant & helpful. Good breakfast. Would love to stay again!

Our room was really accommodating with a king and bunk beds for three generations of “girls”! Nice breakfast included. If you forgo cleaning service, an adult beverage was included for each guest for one night.

Really nice place for a night or two

A lovely comfortable room, with amazing views. It can be a little noisy if you're a light sleeper. Convenient location in the middle of Ambleside, close to Windermere. Bar is very nice with a decent range of drinks. I'd happily stay here again.

Looks nice, however the room was quite small, but doable for one night. The staff were also friendly, but quite odd and not flexible. The manager (I think) kept putting a reserve sign on every table I sat at in the bar, even though other tables were free. I think it was a power trip because I challenged their room availability at 2.55 when check in was at 3

The hotel was good. We were in an annex, which you would have selected when booking (which we didn’t). We’d have preferred to be in the main building, for convenience and ambience, however, the room was good and clean. The staff were great and the bar area was really nice, plus it’s very central. Overall, we’d stay again.
