Maybe it’s just because I got the “chestnut” room. But it looked nothing like the photos. Everything didn’t seem maintained, there were ants in the shower and dried up blood or some liquid on the bed. The room smelt of smoke although it says no smoking. You get what you pay for but it’s not what I was expecting !

The only thing good about it an attempted service to help. It was otherwise the worst surprise stay. - decomposing food in a refrigirator build about 30 years ago. - clearly bedding wasn't changed. we had hair and other things, even fresh makeup on pillows - heater and heating control wasn't working. temporarily started then died-middle of the night and we were freezing. thankfully a nice service guy brought a floor manual heater - spiders and roaches, live and dead, especially in the bathroom - ceiling fan was broken - if you turn lights on also fan turns on- in the winter without heating. they couldn't fix. all we watned was light. we were so cold and scared of clearly previously used bedding, spiders and roaches, we slept with all our clothes on as we arrived late and had no other place to go.

BEWARE! Deserves 0 STARS!!! The husband/wife property owners/managers are HIGHLY unethical. They lied to my face, and to my brother's, when we both asked about turning on the jacuzzi for us to use. Apparently, the hot tub area is locked up and only they can go in and turn it on, which was stated in the ad, but we were told all's we had to do to use it was give them forewarning, as it takes about 90 minutes to heat up, and they would be sure and turn it on for us. We were there 4 days and asked EACH day for them to turn it on and although they said, "OK! will do!" they NEVER turned it on for us. NOT ONCE!! There were no apologies or reasons or excuses as to why, or claims that it was broken or being repaired, they just said they would and didn't. We paid EXTRA to have a hotel with this feature, and it was my brothers ONLY request when suggesting what he wanted in amenities. They also FALSE advertise, stating that the extra beds would be futons, which most people know are fairly comfortable and sleep much like a bed, however that's a lie too. It was a sofa sleeper, which ALL people, (who've slept on one.) know are torture devices, with the metal bars, (My bed had 3!!) running across the bed and I wasn't able to sleep all of the 3 nights we were there. It was PURE HELL!! I highly advise all travelers to avoid this property at ALL costs, unless you enjoy being lied to by bold face LIARS!!! They flat out REFUSED to compensate me even in part, for their actions, or lack thereof.

Close to everything,parking was good. Staff very friendly and willing to help. Unfortunately, the furniture and bed looked like they picked it up from the curb for free. The sign as you walk up says under new management, I'm hoping that they are in transition because cabins could be very cute when fixed up. We stayed 2 nights the 1st night the heater wasn't working and we froze. Temperatures dropped to 55. Beds only had sheets set up for summer time. The next day, we were given a small room heater and a blanket. Which was ok for person in the room. I slept on fold out couch with a sheet and once again gas heater went out in the middle of the night. I froze again. We were not offered any compensation for the heater going out and we also had plumbing issue. That was resolved quickly in the morning. I hope new management remodels soon. We came home and felt like we should burn the clothes we wore to bed. but we threw everything in the wash right away and showered. We felt so gross. They are pet friendly,charged an extra $20 per night. They were very accommodating to my friend who is disabled. Gave us a cabin that she could move comfortably in.

The location is awesome but the Cozy Corner Cabin was far from cozy. I love rustic cabins, but I expect comfort and cleanliness when paying top dollar for a stay. The room was dirty, the heater did not work, the bed linens were dirty, the sofa had pet hair, the pillow cases were dirty, there was only a thin sheet and thin comforter. No blanket. We had to go out and purchase a blanket to keep us warm overnight. The fireplace had burnt logs and was full of ashes. The bathroom was dirty, the towels were dirty and appeared to have been re-used from the previous stay. I will definitely not be staying here again and hope the ownership and management step up their game to make this place shine. The potential is there!
