With the holiday season comes an incredible assortment of light displays and this year, there seem to be more festivities to revel in than ever. The best part is that these nine splendid lighted wonderlands are meant to be enjoyed from the safest of distances, the inside of your car!

Coconut Creek, FL

Holiday Fantasy of Lights happens in Coconut Creek, about 25 minutes north of Fort Lauderdale. This drive-thru attraction offers spectators more than three miles of giant illuminated lights and animated displays. An annual tradition, Holiday Fantasy of Lights is now in its 26th year! Nightly through January 2, 2021.

Las Vegas, NV

Glittering Lights should be part of your holiday plans if you are visiting Las Vegas during the festive holiday season. There are millions of twinkling lights, so pack your car and drive through the splendor of the illumination that fills the desert sky. There’s also a fast pass you can purchase to beat the lines. Partial proceeds benefit children’s charities. Through January 10, 2021.

Hershey, PA

With five million twinkling lights at Hershey Sweet Lights, visitors will be treated to a true celebration of the season at the sweetest place on Earth, Hersheypark. The holiday spirit goes a step further as lighted attractions are synchronized to classic holiday tunes. Have your phone ready: You’ll want get some pics for the ‘gram of this mesmerizing attraction. Through January 3, 2021.

Bowling Green, KY

This year, a famed tradition is suited perfectly to meet socially-distanced travel goals. Twinkle at the Track, a massive holiday spectacle at the Motorsports Park track at the National Corvette Museum, boasts a light installation, which features more than one million dazzling lights on a two-mile drive illuminated by more than 350 light displays including new ones like Christmas in Space and Elf Coal Miners. Through January 1, 2021.

Irwindale, CA

Just 30 minutes east of Los Angeles, you’ll find Santa’s Speedway, a drive-thru light spectacle where the Irwindale Speedway, a real NASCAR racetrack, is transformed into a magnificent display of holiday wonder. A Christmas tree of lights towering over 110 feet is surely the high point of the attraction. Through January 10, 2021.

Chicago, IL

New this season, Midwesterners can capture bright views at Let It Shine on Chicago’s North Shore. This drive-thru world of lights is the area’s largest, and is held at Northbrook Court mall in suburban Northbrook. Guests drive through an  illuminated and immersive wonderland of light that’s synchronized to classic holiday tunes. The route offers archways, sparkling candy canes, snowmen and more unusual, curated illuminated installations. Through January 9, 2021.

San Antonio, TX

After your day of enjoyment along the famed River Walk, make a plan to head to Lights Alive when the sun sets. This drive-thru experience with computer-controlled attractions has lights synchronized to upbeat remixes as well as traditional Christmas classics. At the end of the drive, guests are invited to exit their cars to admire a 50-foot animated show tree, nosh on Christmas treats and snap pics with Santa—in other words, there’s plenty to raise your holiday game this year! Through January 3, 2021.

San Jose, CA

This Christmas tradition in San Jose has been going on since the 1950s, but it’s a little different this year. Instead of taking place at Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park, Christmas in the Park will be drive-thru only and take place at History Park instead. Expect whimsical holiday displays, hundreds of decorated Christmas trees and other holiday favorites that will add a new tradition to your usual holiday plans. Through January 3, 2021.

Stanwood, WA

At The Lights of Christmas, one hour north of Seattle, expect a winter wonderland full of Christmas magic and merriment. With over one million lights in dazzling displays, capture close views of the Cascade Splendor mountain scene, the Nativity, Santa and his reindeer, and more surprises. Tickets must be purchased online in advance to adhere to social distancing protocols. Select dates through December 30, 2020.
