NEW YORK and CHICAGO, Feb. 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Internet travel site Skiplagged and Orbitz Worldwide (NYSE:OWW)
have agreed to terms that will settle litigation filed by Orbitz, under which Skiplagged will not redirect traffic to and other Orbitz Worldwide websites. In addition, Skiplagged agreed not to use Orbitz Worldwide brands, logos, trademarks, images or other copyrighted materials on the Skiplagged website or mobile apps. Under the settlement agreement, neither party admitted wrong doing.

The agreement removes Orbitz Worldwide from litigation it jointly filed with United Airlines against Skiplagged on November 17, 2014 relating to Skiplagged’s publication of airline hidden city price and route information. Orbitz joined in the litigation after Skiplagged declined a request to disable hidden city booking links to Orbitz, which Orbitz believed posed contractual risks for the company relating to supplier agreements with certain airlines and infringed Orbitz’ trademarks. Orbitz and Skiplagged declined any further comment about the settlement.
